Sparked by foggy

And picking up on current news stating that the good old hedgehog Is as endangered as the tiger.

No one garden is enough; hedgehogs need streets and neighbourhoods of linked-up gardens if they are to survive.

Hands up I am a tree hugger.

I have had man with a hammer on his hands and knees knocking one in our back gate.

They can easily visit my garden, just haven't seen any for quite a while and we are near a country park such a shame xx

I used to see evidence of them in the school garden but I too haven't spotted it in the last couple of years.

Me too nedd, all trees that I can hug, I do 😃😃😃 and most certainly encourage the wildlife in my garden, for goodness sake I live deep in the countryside and people like hedgepigs are more than welcome. Though looking at some new builds which have just been finished on the outskirts of the village that cartoon is absolutely spot on, not a hope of any of them getting into the garden there with all th wood fencing which is in position 😳😳😳

Depressing isn't it.

I have a favourite tree that has been privy to my ups and downs over the years. I have introduced her to the grandchildren and we have set up a rope swing. She lives on the Lord of the manors estate. He never comes near her his lose.

How lovely that is nedd, I too had a favourite as a child and I could jump on my pony who only had a head collar on and lead rein, and I'd then gallop off into our woodland to 'MY' tree and scramble up it off said pony's back, she would just put her head down and munch and I would be in my lovely tree. Now the estate is sold and I know my old oak friend is much larger, that's not to say that given the opportunity I wouldn't just love to climb it, right to the very top again like the old days.

I'm so pleased you've introduced it to your grandchildren, that's lovely, and even better knowing that the land owner neither knows nor cares, as you say his loss if your gain !! 😃😃

I'm afraid I kept mine a secret as it was my place of safety when everything else was shouting and yelling and going crazy, how very selfish I was 😳😳😕😕

I think that was very wise, not selfish. At times you do need to look after you.
