What do you do if you keep repeating all your symptoms to your doctor and the cronic pain clinic

(And you think it could be fibro ) but they dont mention it.

I am tired all the time , in pain, stiff, painfull neck and shoulders, headaches, when I yawn t sometimes get my jaw locked and that hurts till it waers off (a few mins), very itchy skin which is not good in the sun,

Feeling very hot at times which makes me feel sick untill I put a fan on me and this is also in the winter.

I also have depression which I have for a long long time and ocd and this is why I think they take no notice of me.

HELLO were you seen by a rheumatologist they are the guys to declare FIBRO

but as you see you Doc and he has sent you to the Pain clinic he obviously feels your constant pain needs help. Well that is so like fibro it must be fibro. So dont worry just take all the help on offer.

Do you take anything for Depression we all have it in varying stages. I use Duloxatine as apain blocker and it also helps me feel more togeether and less depressed.

Try hard to look on the bright side it helps us so much if we can keep our attitude happy and smiley1

Good luck

Yes I have taken tablets for depression for years but I sometimes feel that people take no notice of me because of this and the ocd and they think its all in my head.

Hi Katy sounds like your having a real harsh time of it and you must be absolutely exhausted trying to make sense of it all. I don't know if you have been on a pain management or fibro management course yet these can really help you learn to pace your life every day. One of the most sad things with my conditions is that this isn't going to go away and that is quite stressful at first but I will add im slowly learning to take each day as it comes and do what I can and learn to take it easy when I need to. I know everything you say has been felt or experienced by all of us at some time. I wish you well and will end it here. xx

I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing this, and I would just ask them if they think it may be Fibro? It is always worth a go? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I have given up on my doctor. I have given him a long list of my symptoms and I know I have ME but I think he is one of those old school doctors who does not believe it exists. I have just learned to live with it.

Have they ruled out other (stuff first - such as vitamin deficiencies, anaemia etc? I feel pretty much like you and I've gone through a battery of tests (I am severely vitamin D deficient), MRIs etc before my GP decided it might be fibro and is sending me to a rheumy. I was amazed at how rubbish I felt with low vitamin D - my doc was suspecting for a while I had MS. I also think, and I've said this before on here, that GPs don't like diagnosing a long-term condition unless they've exhausted everything else.

So sorry to read your post and see that you are so low. With fibro there is no standard test that they can do for it so it is usually diagnosed only after they have eliminated all other possibilities such as osteo arthritis, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc. Often doctors and nurses seem to call it "just a label" to a group of symptoms which I don't think they fully understand themselves.

I think there is a big debate amongst the medical community with what in most cases comes first, depression and then fibro or fibro which then causes depression. I can imagine if someone is depressed and anxious all the time the muscles and ligaments are bound to be tense and if this happens over a long period of time it is though the body has somehow learnt to be always like that. If on the other hand the fibro starts first then the continuous pain and fatigue can get a person down and anxious as they don;t know what is wrong with then the depression can develop.

Some doctors, I believe two at my surgery don't really believe it exists so if you have a doctor like that you are never going to get any further. I think like Ken says it might be best just to ask them straight out as even though the medical profession might call it a label it is sometimes nice when people ask you what is wrong that you can say " I have fibro" rather than "I am ill but I don't really know what is wrong with me." At least being diagnosed with it makes you feel as though you haven;t gone mad.

Hope by the time you read this you feel a little better. Soft hugs.x
