Letter saying ESA assessment Postponed

I had to changed my 1st appointment with them as it was on 4th floor of a building and a emergency risk anyway they gave me a new appointment. I got a letter saying my appointment has been postponed and they will contact me again soon with another. Does anyone know why they would do this ????????? my mind boggles

Hi Tasha,

I think the answer might be because they can? Presumably you are waiting for a decision and then to get some money, hopefully. I recommend you take the letter to CAB and ask for their advice or even phone the ESA office (their are free phone in job centre I think, if you can get to one - ans ask for their advice, if necessary ask to speak to Manager. As for CAB - they are excellent, some better than others. If you don't get a supportive response (ad they can make phone calls for as well!) - try again the next week. But I hope it won't take that long to sort out.

It could be one of many reasons. It could be that they realise they have no one sufficiently familiar with your illness to properly assess you on that day. It is also a relatively new company taking it over so they might not have got their act together especially as the first place they tried to send you to was totally unsuitable and from what I remember you said in a previous post it does not sound as though this new place they are going to send you to is ideal. I also sometimes wonder whether they do these things as a delaying tactic in the hope that people will get so stressed out and give in. Hope you get a new date soon, hang on in there. Let us know how things progress.x

I am so sorry to read this and I would inquire further and contact the dwp as there may be a reporting structure in place for such matters?

Hi Tasha,

Same think happened to me, i had an appointment on the 6th/03, and because i have asked for the assessment to be recorded they cancelled the appointment 2 days before, phone rang telling that the assessment is postponed and then i have received the same confusing letter as yours, stating that the assessment is no longer needed but they will contact me soon to arrange another appointment.I didn't understand a sausage, till i have received last week an appointment for the 26th.03, and i have asked for it to be recorded again, in fact i bought a double cassette stereo recorder. Guess what? a letter come through my post today, stating same ratatouille again, it has been postponed again.

Therefore Ms Tasha if you are puzzled frankly i'm sausage d?
