Hi, I know this is a subjective question, but what med combos work best for you?
As I'm newly diagnosed, I've been reading a ton of stuff, but would like some "user" opinions!
Thank you in advance!

We all react differently to medication, I think it's trial and error when you start the Firbro journey. It can take some time to find the right combination. Wishing you well. Lou x
Hi veggiemomma
I sincerely hope that you are feeling well today? I completely agree with lou60 in that we all react differently to our medications and our illness. I personally use Nortriptyline, Metocloperamide, Naproxen and Co-Codamol (at the moment that is), as my neurologist wants me to try Pregabalin and cut down on my opiate based pain killers.
I want to wish you all the best of luck with your pain killers, whatever it is that you use.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken x
Most people are given pregabalin or gabapentin at the start! I know I was, but they made me violently ill! Then naproxen and co codamol with amitriptaline at bed time. I now take tramodol with paracetamol if the pain is bad and the bed meds but need naproxen course when in flare up!! I also take a vit D3 5,000 iu every morning! My Son swears by them!! He orders them online for me, I can get the name for you if you're interested! Vit D3 are beneficial in so many ways!!! These ones are £17 but last a whole year!! Good luck with finding what meds suit you and let us know how you're getting on!...much love...ninja....xxx
I know I'm not the only one... The thing that works best for me is avoiding analgesics altogether - I know a lot of people who have concluded that medications don't work for them, and so they leave them off, use other methods of easing pain (meditation, stretches, yoga, pilates, hot and cold packs, face frame for face pain, diet and diet supplements, special mattresses and chairs, trigger point massage, massage, etc.), whatever suits them, and they find that they feel better without medications. The pain is no worse, sometimes better as like me, they have paradoxical effects to meds (ie, makes pain worse, or stop sleeping altoghether), or cause some other unbearable side effect. But everyone has to find their own way. Good luck and hope you find your best remedy soon. x
Takes time to get combination right. I started on low level dose of Co-codamol then as pain gets worse back to Dr. so to cut long story short get upto top level to take of drug they then try you on another drug as well in my case it was Gabapentine Low. mid.high then they don`t take care of all pain so back to Dr get Oramorth L.M.H. as you see trial and effort to find whats right for you these combo. of meds are right for me and I also have understanding doctor, sometimes other mixes don`t work but don`t be afraid to go back to Dr`s. talking through with them is the most important so write down what you need to sort out before you go as like most Dr`s. you only get 10 mins. so need to make that time count hope this helps G/LUCK XX
Thanks to all of you on your replies! I know it's all about trial and error, but I appreciate hearing about other people's experiences.
