So sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with fibro but on the positive side you now know what you are up against and hopefully they can find some medication that can help at least some of the symptoms. It is very hard to get your head around it as it is such a complex illness to have with so many different symptoms. It is worth having a look on our Mother site FibroAction as it will give you alot of information about fibro, its symptoms and medication etc.
Fibro means alot of different things to different people. It can be a very fluctuating illness with a big range of symptoms with not everyone having them all. Some people find the pain worse and others the fatigue or both. It is a case of trying to pace yourself as if you don't you will unfortunately pay for it with worse symptoms for a period of time afterwards but sometimes a special event makes it worth it.
You will find this a warm and helpful site with people around most of the time who can give you support and help if you want to ask any questions. Even just have a moan if you want to as it often makes things better.
Keep us up to date with how you are.xxx
Hi tishyapt
I sincerely hope that you are feeling well today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I genuinely hope that you find the forum useful, informative and loads of fun!
I use a tri-walker as I have limited mobility, and it really works for me! I think as with all medical diagnosis it will take time for it to sink in and for you to accept what you have been told? I know it did with me!
I was wondering if you have been given any medications yet? There are plenty that your GP can give you so if they do not work at first it is a question of finding the right balance of the right drugs. I want to wish you all the best of luck with your treatments.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
