I have been in Care for the last 2 years. I know it isn't so long and I know I'm only 19. But I'm starting to hate it. I was in the community for a while and just recently got a a new job in a Nursing Home. I'm really not enjoying it!! I hate it. Every time I'm due to go to work I'm sick, I'm nervous and I just DO NOT want to go. Then when I'm there all I want to do is come back home. I'm so fed up also with weekend work!!! Weekend work and shift work!! All I want to do is start a new career Monday to Friday!! New career?????

Hi Sophx
I am so sorry to read that you are having these issues with work, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your problems. I have pasted you a link for the government job centre and training organisation for young people called connexions.

If you like what they are about it may be worth finding your local office and talking to them about what you really want to do? Most 9 to 5, Monday to Friday jobs are in offices? Is this what you want to do?
I was also wondering if you have come through to the correct site, as this is a Fibromyalgia forum? I want to wish you all the best of luck with your career plans.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Have you thought about working as a PA - personal assistant? You go into a persons home to help them but it's not like agency half hour visits. The person needing care, often younger physically disabled people, employs you directly and you do all your work just with them, still in shifts if that's what they need. People who become PAs often become almost friends with the person they're helping
hello Sophx,
Sorry you don't enjoy your work, it such an important part of life.
Is it where you are working or the hours that you do not like or do you need to do a different job. 19 is still very young and all jobs have there bad bits when you start. At school you get to the top of the tree and then back to the bottom and all the rotten jobs. My son hated his life at 19, he changed his career and now has a good life that he is thoroughly enjoying: it can be done.
Try and get some help for both your career and your feelings.
Hope you feel more positive soon. Big hug.
