Should have stayed at home....

I haven't 'socialised' of an evening for as long as I can remember, and never since moving back home. My dear friend persuaded me to join her last night, but I really didn't want to go, and only the thought of letting her down had me applying makeup for the first time in a very long time.

The event itself was dire, reminiscent of Phoenix Nights without the humour. The Robbie Williams tribute act was tone deaf, and even my pup Sprocket would have thought twice about eating the hotpot. I was so glad when it was home time, but as we walked across the car park to the car, my stupid knee gave way, and I hit the ground hard, breaking the fall with my cheekbone and shoulder.

Bearing in mind how much pain I was in yesterday already, I now have battered and bruised injuries to add to the mix. I wish I'd have stayed in with a mug of hot chocolate and watched the goggle box instead. Next time, I'm saying NO!

Awww bless you oh shiny one, isn't it silly how we do these things to ourselves. I bet you've got a huge black eye and very

painful shoulder and knee. I did a good one yesterday, I lost my balance and tripped over a plant pot, ended up luckily in a garden tub that had water in it, so there I was sitting in the water having bashed myself in a couple of places, but luckily didn't hit the ground, wet pants and all was a much better outcome :p :o

Hi shiny, soo sorry to hear of your disastorous evening. Perhaps it is safer if we all stay inside, wrapped in bubble wrap! Gentle hugs, Julie xxx

in reply to Julie63

Im not safe inside cut my finger while I was trying to remember how to carve the meat :)

Sorry your night ended so painfully my friend :o

It is possible to go out and enjoy ourselves as long as we pace ourselves throughout the week leaving ample time to pamper ourselves and lift ourselves into the mood to go out beforehand. Its a chance to really spoil ourselves :D

However, if your heart wasn't in it before you went I'm not too surprised that you didn't enjoy it, if you feel it will be bad then it will be bad if you feel it will be good then it will be good :o

I do hope it wasn't the end of shiny1 entering the socialising world, we all need new people to talk to and have new friends to make.

Right okay :D I have a huge basket of fluffies for you to roll yourself up in and heal those bruises I really do feel for you being a dodgy knee person too. Mine misbehave every other dayit's frustrating but it will never stop me from enjoying myself.

:) xxxsianxxx :)

Ummm, what's this "socialising" thing?

in reply to fenbadger

My version always involves a human bean, wine and it seems a fall. Sometimes music. Do you know of it? Perhaps badgers do it differently? X

Hi Shiny1

I am so sorry to read that your evening out went so badly, and I really hope that you haven't hurt yourself too much when you fell?

I was wondering if you are going to get yourself checked out? As I wouldn't want you to go through any pain with this if it can be helped by your GP?

Please take care and let us know that you are okay after this?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x

Hi everyone, thanks for your messages. I'm ok, thankfully my cheek is fine which is relief, what with my face being my fortune and all...lol!! My knee is badly bruised but worst is my shoulder which hasn't got a mark on it but is excruciating. I'm always suspicious of injuries that don't show up. I'm not going to go to the Dr unless it gets much, much worse as I have a full body bone scan booked next week so I'm figuring any serious damage will show up in that unless it's soft tissue, in which case they wouldn't treat it anyway. I can talk my way out of doing pretty much anything if I put my mind to it :)

Now, has anyone any advice on what treatment should I look into for my bleeding ears caused by last night's dreadful singer?? :D :D

Hope you have tried out Foggy, or should that be Soggy? ;) :o

Xxxx

Large, long pieces of cotton wool dipped in baby oil. It is also good for cleaning your ears as well.

Am so happy that you not badly hurt, and I hope the shoulder and knee problem clears up soon.

Take care

So sorry to hear about your night out. I always remember not wanting to do something and my husband said what the worst that could happen, decided I could cope with that, and went: and yes the worst was worse than my imagination, but I survived so please don't let it stop you from trying. My grandmother stopped going in boats after she once fell in and she told me she regretted it later as her husband was a sailor and she never shared that part of his life

I'll agree with that. I've regretted more that I didn't do than things I DID do :P

And when I realise, as often as not it's too late to put it right.
