I just love dolphins, one of the things I long to do before I depart this mortal coil is to swim with dolphins, ideally in the wild, but that's probably not going to happen, so I will have to settle for organised swims. About 15 years ago I was down staying with friends in Cornwall on the Lizard, I went off to a cove that I love and there were basking sharks, I was so excited and had about 15 minutes swimming with them, they live on plankton and are totally harmless, their mouths are like huge white duvet covers. I paid the price afterwards of course, but it was well worth it.

I have been told that there are dolphins round Kos where I am going in September, even seeing them would be great :-) :-)

Well Foggy I think they have been seen near Whitehaven and off the coast around the top of the lake district. I haven't managed to see them though :) xgins

I love dolphins and whales. We're lucky that various species are found on the east coast of Scotland. We've had a lot of walks along the cliffs with all of us wanting to be the first one to shout "FIN". I managed to get a reasonable photo of said fins on one occasion. Obviously, getting a closer view is always my aim... as ever with wildlife :)
