this is a result which often surprises men after a SA test.. as sperm are constantly produced, and take between 75 and 90 days to reach maturity before being stored in the epididymus, factors such as stress, illness, or injury can affect there production at any point..

there are a number of things you can do to try to help

stop smoking

reduce alcohol consumption

reduce weight and bmi

eat more fresh fruit and veg, especially darker berries and fruit

eat more nuts...

all the above help with antioxidants which protect the body and help to produce healthy sperm, and better numbers

weirdly i was also told i had to ejaculate at least every 2 days,,,, lol,, to help flush out the poorer quality sperm, and help make my testes make more ,,, i didnt complain at that .

vitamins wise, after my last SA at the clinic, which was used for ivf, i was told it had poor morphology abd motility,,,, and so they had to do icsi,,

afterwards i was told to get a vitamin called menevit, only sold in Australia, so i imported 12 months worth,, and have been on this for almost 3 months, so im getting ready now to have a DNA fragmentation test,,, i hoping that this will return my sperm to the level of past tests, when they were more than normal

hope this helps... but there is lots of info on the web ... dont give up..

Thanks for the info. Would be interested to find out what your next results will be after taking the nenevit.

All previous advice totally agreed with. Don’t know anything about the “Australian” vitamins though. I have heard that Selenium (around 130mcg) and Zinc (around 40mgs) per day, plus a multi-vitamin tablet has cell building properties. Some men I have spoken to have definitely found benefit from taking them. Hope all ends well for you.

I'm booked in for my DNA frag that on the 22...it takes a few weeks to get the results but yes I'll post them when I get them

I got confirmation of the results last week...

DNA fragmentation is 18%. which falls in the good to fair band of 15-25%..so its at the lower end

the aneuploidy test which looks at specific chromosomes linked ti birth defects or non viable pregnancies was also under the 3% threshold

I'm going to have another standard SA test in December to check on morphology and Motility but so far the diet seems to be working

That's really good news and very positive. News. I'll ordering the menevit tomorrow
