Advice for a second transfer

Hello, I will have my second embryo transfer next week, and I am feeling quite anxious since the first one was unsuccessful. If anyone has any advice, should I take a few days off work, or is it better to continue working as usual? Do you think acupuncture sessions can help reduce stress levels?Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Hi, just thought I would respond not with any advice as such but just to say I've got my second transfer next week as well and also very nervous. I've taken next week off (mainly because I have to fly to cyprus). I'm finding reflexology really relaxing. I've been doing accupuncture because I have a really poor lining and my last transfer was cancelled because my lining didn't grow but I don't find it all that relaxing. Feel free to message me and good luck x

I'm gearing up for my 5th round. I don't think it makes much difference if you take the time off or not, I guess if depends what you do for work and how you feel. I've done both, took few days off and worked all the way through I don't think either made much difference but at least when I worked it took my mind off it, not working made the days go very slowly just waiting. Re anxiety it's natural at times like this, All I'd say is try find something or an activity you enjoy that helps you to relax & takes your mind off things....colouring in, calm/relaxation apps, music, tv, reading......

Hi, my SIL swore by acupuncture for her successful single and then twins. She was allowed to bring her acupuncturist into her ward before transfer.

I have just had my first failed transfer too, can I ask how long you had to wait until you were able to do a second?

Wishing you all the luck in the world this time round xxx

Hi! Typically, the wait is around two months, but it can vary depending on the clinic. In my case, I had to wait six months because I developed an infection, and then it was around Christmas time. I hope your second round is successful. Sending you lots of love!😀

I’ve had acupuncture throughout my treatment and had an unsuccessful transfer during that time so I’m not sure it helped but it is relaxing. I recommend watching uplifting things on tv that will make you laugh. I did this throughout the wait as well as continued to work as it kept my mind busy. Good luck
