Hi there, just looking to get some stories from others. I had my first egg collection Saturday and they got 25 eggs. Now I’m due in tomorrow to have a review and see if I’m at risk for OHSS and might not be able to do a fresh transfer. Out of 25, 15 fertilised and I had my day 3 call today to be told only 4 made it to day 3. Now I feel so disheartened that none will make it to day 5. Has anyone else had poor stats like mine after so many were collected and did any make it to day 5?

The 5 day wait anxiety

The shock of the fall in numbers is something I was in no way prepared for during my first collection so I totally understand your shock. The highest drop off seems to between collection and day three so hopefully all four of yours will make it to day five or six and you have a successful transfer.
Good luck with it all.
one thing that I don’t think anyone is prepared for in IVF is the drop in numbers from original eggs collected to those that make each stage & then finally blastocyst. I had 17 eggs collected & ended up with 2 blastocysts, one transferred whos now 6 months old & one frozen. Of the 17, 16 of mine were mature but I had a high abnormal fertilisation rate & only had 4 that fertilised normally but 50% of those made it. Wishing you well for the next steps x🫶🏼
I am in the same boat!
Had my egg retrieval on Monday (it is Wednesday now). They have provisionally booked my for a transfer for this Saturday but all depends on my risk of OHSS. Had bloods taken this morning so I'm waiting for the call.
They retrieved 17 eggs and 12 fertilised but I don't know any further. The anxiety is so bad and the what ifs and overthinking. Trying to keep calm and positive!
