Our infertility journey (unexplained infertility) of 5+years including multiple tests to identify root cause, multiple countless clomid rounds, 11 natural IVFs rounds, one surgery for ovarian cyst removal, 1 miss carriage, 5 failed transfers and 4 rounds of medicated IVF finally came to an end after the birth of our twins last week.
Age was not my friend through this journey as I am now 39 and my husband is 40 yrs old.
For those who are just at the starting line, or frustrated and still trying, know that there is hope and all you need is one egg and one sperm to stick.
All the best and I will continue to be active in the group to support others who need it.

Congratulations mama, we had our little miracle. Hes a week old today and i still keep looking thinking am i dreaming still. It sure can work and the end result is in incredible. Well done mama & all the best with your twins xxx
The last round of my IVF, we included massages for stress relief. This helped me loads. And this time I lived life as if everything was normal. I played tennis every week (until my BFP); went for a holiday, partied a bit (had 2-3 drinks) and made time everyday for myself , even if it was to do nothing and just listen to a pod cast.
From the medicine front, this time we wanted to keep it simple and not over medicate. Before this round I stopped all medication for 1month, then restarted folic acid, vit D, magnesium and B12. The IVF medication protocol was also kept simple replaced Gonal with menopur and nothing else. We also kept the daily dose low but extended the number of days the stimulation went on. Eg: normally we would extract eggs on day 14, but this time we did it on day 21. Giving the eggs more time to grow and develop. We ended up with 16 eggs (15 mature) - we never had anything more than 7 before. All 15 fertilised through ICSI as we did not want to take a chance with just IVF and 3 blasts. First was a fresh transfer which did not stick and then the last 2 that we froze were BC and CC quality before freezing; that thawed beautifully and stuck. Kudos to my doctor who pushed to go ahead with these embies and not discard them as they were growing well.
The BC and CC embies are now sleeping soundly near me ❤️❤️❤️
