Low AMH at 26

Any tips or advice really appreciated...

I have had a couple of AMH tests done recently, the first just through a Fertility test to have my irregular bleeding investigated and was shock to realise that I had low amh.

My most recent one came back as 0.86 pmol/l and I am at a bit of a loss at 26 as to what to do and what this means for me. I really want to have children, live a very healthy lifestyle and am struggling online to decipher what I should do next, if this is a really low level or if having children is something I should prioritise.

Does anyone have any advice, or is going through/has been through similar? I have had a couple of doctors appointments and was advised to try in the next couple of years or to consider freezing my eggs, but there was never anything concrete or a proper rough time estimate given to me and I feel so overwhelmed and confused.

Much love, thank you xx

low amh doesn’t mean your chances of conceiving each month are less, just that you have less eggs so less time

Hi lovely my daughter is your age well 25 and what I’d say to her in your situation is I no it’s gutting what the doctors have said to you but that’s what’ ivf is for and things can be done

Keep up your healthy life style no fast food veg chicken eggs nuts almonds pomegranate juice beetroot juice fruits

Plenty of walks fresh air good for mind and body

Q 10 600 mg a day from Amazon plus multi vitamins

Take the Q10 every day for 3 months then I would freeze my eggs at least then you know you have some put away for future now while you are young

It will take a bit of the pressure off fingers crossed you get some good ones

Try not to google to much google is not always are friend we can read something shit and can send us in to panic

Keep your chin up babes don’t let this bullshit get you down you have got this there’s things that can be done now while your young

Wishing all the luck in the world sweetheart

Xxxx

Hi Londonliving1998 !

Have you spoken to a fertility consultant? You say you’ve spoken to doctors but your GP is not an expert, so I would strongly recommend you have a couple of consultations with experts to discuss your case.

AMH is not the only thing that is important, but also your follicle count, and other hormones that can impact on fertility. Also, at age 26, even if you had a lower egg reserve that other girls your age, the quality if your eggs should be good which means that you could still get pregnant.

What’s important now is that you have consultations (and any additional tests they may suggest) so that you can make informed decisions for the future.

Wishing you all the best!!

Hello, firstly I’m really sorry you’re in this situation, it’s very confusing and difficult!

I was the same age as you when I found out about my low fertility (my AMH was higher than yours but I had very low AFC too) I became single soon after and I was advised to freeze my eggs however I thought I would surely meet someone soon so I put it off and then Covid happened and now I’m in a much worse position and have had 2 no reaponse IVF cycles this year. My biggest regret is not freezing my eggs when I was advised to 7 years ago. Also the younger you are the better the egg quality so I would really recommend having a look in to that. Have you had your AFC checked? This indicates the number of follicles you have which may be a good number.

This forum is really helpful, good luck! 💐

I would look at seeing a Fertility Nutritionist who will understand the science of improving AMH and egg quality. It can improve! Ensure they specialise in Fertility. Be worth checking your DHEA too. Good luck x

I really like this fertility coach i've found on insta - Alexandria (thefertilitycoach) AMH is not everything. I am currently pregnant (through diet and lifestyle changes I believe)

I would go straight to IVF. Also if you have not had a scan, you could be low on vitamin D. If your vitamin D levels are low that can affect amh but not always dramatically. Are you able to do private ivf and create embryos?

Not what you're looking for?
