Hi everyone. I am back, currently undergoing my second fresh transfer (we had one frozen blastocyst transferred in October but it came back BFN).
I have borderline PCOS, but they decided to double my dose of meriofert this time, to get a better result - they said they were less worried about OHSS than before.
So I have had 300 meriofert short protocol and it's been much higher yield than last time, thankfully. 27 follicles (approx 16 mature) - 16 eggs retrieved, 10 fertilised, and 6 made it to day five blastocysts...! We have transferred a hatching blast and frozen the other 5.
My previous round got 3 eggs retrieved from 21 follicles and ended up with 2 blasts, so this is a huge improvement and I'm really happy with those numbers.
I'm now an absolute balloon, looking 6 months pregnant, trying to keep OHSS from becoming too severe, eating salty food, drinking lots of water and electrolytes, sleeping propped up with feet raised - any further tips appreciated! My ovaries were 11cm and 9.5 at my pre transfer scan, so I was surprised the consultant was happy to go ahead with the transfer. There wasn't apparently too much free fluid in my pelvis (tell that to the watermelon up my jumper!)
We have been through a lot on our journey, including finding out our baby had died at the 20 week scan in March, and having to deliver him. It's been a long road in general, five years actively TTC.
I'm a little nervous that I've heard there is a bit of an increased risk of baby loss with OHSS... So if there's any words of wisdom you have for me, i'd appreciate them.
Back on the rollercoaster I go... A little battle scarred, but a little stronger. 🙏🏻
