After two years ttc and numerous failed ivf rounds, I’ve finally fallen pregnant naturally, which is so exciting.
I’m just over 5 weeks, so still very early but this morning I’ve woken up with mild cramping and mild spotting. It’s hard not to think the worst but wondering if anyone has had the same and it all worked out ok?
The not knowing is killing me!
Thank you 🙏🏼

The truth is that it can be anything and that without ultrasound it is impossible to say if it is bad or not. For me it once ended in miscarriage and on two other occasions it was a hematoma. I was put on strict bed rest. I have a 14 months old daughter and am currently 23 weeks pregnant. I wish you all the best.
Hi, I had brown spotting every day from OTD to just past 10 weeks. I thought it was all over in test day despite the BFP because of the spotting starting. I even had 3 red bleeds and went to the EPU at 8 weeks and 9 weeks for scans- all fine. No reason seen for the bleeding and they weren’t concerned. I thought it was all over numerous times and the beginning of the pregnancy was very stressful after previous loss. But then one day it stopped and touch wood, no spotting since. I’m 25 weeks now and all fine x
Hi. You’re coming up to your scan date, so that should reassure you. Spotting is common in early weeks, especially when rhe placenta is forming properly. Hope all continues as it shoULd. Diane
Hi Sammy, I understand why this is worrying coz I've been the same. I was spotting yesterday afternoon then it stopped, then started again this morning and it was light brown spotting then it stopped. I was really concerned so I rang my clinic and they booked me in for a scan. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and during the scan they managed to show us the heart beat on the screen and the foetal pole with the sac and also they showed us the pregnancy is in the correct place. Our viability scan was actually planned for next week but they booked us in today just for reassurance. My nurse said the spotting is not an issue and sometimes they don't know why spotting happens. If it's small amounts then that is absolutely fine. So yes try not to worry and if you are still concerned then please give the clinic a ring and they will put you at ease. Good luck with your journey, wishing you all the best .xxx
