I went through first IVF/ICIS, 6 eggs collected and good quality. However, didn't fertilised any egg and failed on day one. Very disappointed and sad š Had follow up appointment with consultant and she advised both eggs and sperms were good quality and couldn't tell the failed reason, maybe bad luck. Before to go next cycle advised Sperm DNA fragmentation which my husband doing on Friday.
Has anyone experienced this or any advice?

we had a few experiences of this context =, we did have a sperm issue hence using ICSI but was an issue that ICSI stopped being an issue if that makes sense. But our first cycle similar 5 eggs all mature none fertilisedā¦.no clear reason why. All cycles (3) since we have had really high fertilisation and blastocyst success rates (we donāt get many eggs due to my AMH but all fertilise and pretty much all make it to blastocyst). So maybe that first time was just bad luck, fingers crossed itās the same for you.
Ps we didnāt change anything protocol wise after the first one other than upping my stims dose to try for more eggs which didnāt work but still got full fertilisation on the 3 eggs collected.
hey, firstly Iām sorry. Itās brutal doing all that work to not get past day one. This exact thing happened to me. 6 eggs collected and none fertilised with ICSI. Our clinic advised calcium ionophore for the next collection. Essentially the fertilisation process requires a calcium injection to kick start it, but sometimes it can be lacking in sperm, so the lab replicates it. It can help a lot apparently. May be worth asking about. Fingers crossed for you next time!
