Anyone every used donated embryos?

So my last donor egg cycle failed again. That's 3 in total now. From 12 donor eggs, we got 2 good embryos and 2 poor quality which were both transferred at once. Just don't know what to do next. We will get some money back from the failed package deal and if we can just find a few more thousand we could afford to try 6 more donor eggs.

Have looked around though and there is a clinic that appear to charge less than £3000 for a donated embryo attempt. We have issues with our sperm as well so I am not thinking this may be a lot faster and cheaper as an option.

Failing this it will be just trying another 6 eggs, but I am 42 in November and I am not sure I can go through it again for it to be a fail. Don't know whether it's time to think about adopting instead. At least there is already a child that exists in adoption.

Just don't know what to do. Don't think I will ever feel be happy again without a child to look after.

Anyone got any advice?

Hi Yellow, so sorry to hear about your failed cycles. I am also 42 and have just gone through a freeze all donor cycle with my sister's eggs.

I was just wondering if you used frozen eggs or fresh? And did they do ICSI?

Hi there

I used frozen eggs from an egg bank and had two fresh embryo transfers and one frozen.

That's really good of your sister, I really hope it works for you. Xx

And yes we did have icsi every time because of our poor sperm motility. X

It may be worth seeing if you can do a fresh synchronisation for donor eggs rather than frozen, it's my understanding that there is much better odds for the embryos if the eggs are fresh when they're fertilised. Obviously this is a bigger hurdle as need to sync up with a donor which can take time. Although I know many ladies on here have gone abroad with success 💕💕💕

Thanks very much for the advice, we really are close to the end point now so we need to go with something with better odds x

Hi Yellow. Sorry to hear that you have had so many disappointments. Obviously you need to have a good think as to whether to try one last time with donor eggs or even embryos, as you have to give up all fertility treatment before moving on to adoption. Good luck with whatever you decide. Diane

Hi Diane yes it's hard to decide what to do without knowing more about adoption. Think we will do some research x
