Hi everyone 👋

My partner and I are ttc naturally and it's unlikely to happen.

We are going to go down the route of ivf with egg donor.

How long does it take roughly from finding a clinic to completion of one round of treatment?

Can you carry on ttc naturally whilst you are having treatment?

I'm just trying to plan when we should start treatment roughly.

Hi Katie,

In my experience when you find a clinic, once you've had the initial consult and tests you can start with your next period. It does depend a bit on what protocol you're going with and I'm not sure about donor cycles, but in general there isn't a wait time.

for an egg donor there will be a lot more admin and wait depending on where etc too so I would give at least 6 months for all that from point you contact the clinic if it’s a private clinic. If it’s not egg donor maybe 3 months either way I wouldn’t delay 🤗

I stayed with the same clinic, although different admin teams - the time between ending OE cycle to transfer with DE was 5 months. There is quite a bit of admin plus funding options to be approved if you go down that road. The availability of donors varies quite a lot between clinics. You may find a match quickly but it also might take a few months. Some clinics have waiting lists. Probably on average from first contact to transfer might be around 6 months. That’s in the UK, might be different abroad. X
