What’s next?

Hello all, I’m looking for some advice as I don’t know what to do next.

This is the overview of my infertility journey.

*1st cycle was cancelled due to the low number of follicles (only 2)

*2nd cycle (ICSI-long protocol)- 37 eggs collected, 24 injected, 19 fertilised, 3 blastocyst (3BB, 4BC, 2BC)

The first transfer was successful, however, I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks. Then they transferred 2 embryos but it didn’t work.

*3rd cycle (ICSI-short protocol)-17 eggs collected, 15 injected, 12 fertilised, 2 blastocyst (2BB, 2BC) Double unsuccessful transfer.

*4th cycle (PICSI-short protocol)- 6 eggs collected, 4 injected, 3 fertilised, 1 embryo transferred on day 3 (unsuccessful), 2 remaining eggs didn’t make it to day 5

*5th cycle (PICSI-long protocol)-20 eggs collected, 14 injected, 11 fertilised, 2 blastocysts (4CC, 4BC). Unfortunately the embryos didn’t survive the thawing process.

I will be turning 40 in a few months. I have PCOS, endometriosis and adenomyosis. Our kritotypes are fine. My husband’s sperm fragmentation test came back normal (97%). All my embryo were poor quality. They always slowed down after the day 3 which indicates the male factor. However, the doctor says that due to my age and conditions the eggs are not the best quality. He says that it might be the double, unknown factor.

The doctor wants us to try a natural cycle next, however, we are not convinced. I’m losing hope. We are considering an embryo adoption. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

hello, we decided to go down the root of donor embryo and now have a gorgeous little girl. It was so much less hassle than egg collections and we don’t even think about the fact she’s donor at all xxx we just love her so much xxx

we went down the donor egg route after six rounds and which either failed or miscarried. Best thing we ever did - our daughter is one and we love her so much xx

I’m currently pregnant at 43 with double donor. I tried with my own eggs for 2 cycles but they were low quality. I was 40 when I started and time ticks away. I promise you when you’re growing a child in your body you have no doubt it’s your child - I don’t feel any differently because it’s a donor egg. It was the best decision, otherwise I don’t think I would have ever had a successful pregnancy. Good luck x
