egg collection

after a long wait and a rocky start I had my egg collection on Wednesday and they collected 19 eggs! the embryologist rang this morning and out of 19 eggs, 12 fertilised! When they gave me the sedation I could still feel quite a lot of pain during the procedure.

Great result, I hope you get lots of good blastocysts.I am surprised you could feel it though, I've had 2 collections under sedation and slept through them both.

I felt a little drowsy and kept my eyes closed through it all but I could feel everything, some parts weren’t so bad but there was one time when I actually grabbed my belly it was that painful.

Ouch! Sorry you went through that. I must have had heavier sedation then as I couldn't have stayed awake if I tried! They injected the sedative and I was gone around a minute late then woke up in recovery super groggy for around an hour.

Hi IVF. That’s a brilliant result. Your ovaries are going to feel very tender, so don’t get constipated. Drink extra water, and keep an eye on your urine output, lots of it and nice and pale in colour. Paracetamol for pain relief, bo anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Good luck. Diane

Congrats on the collection. Sounds a bit of sensitivity experienced during the process so I would check with your doctor to make sure nothing has triggered. Xxx
