Does the strength of the test line on the ovulation test mean anything?
I know it’s negative but yesterday it was darker than today. I did use pee 2 hours earlier today, though both were the first urine of the day.
Is it best to use first urine or a little later in the day? Google says conflicting things!
Hi yes the test lines can tell you a lot. When it is peak ie dark as control line or darker you are going to ovulate within 36-24 hours. However this is just a guildline, and varies for individuals. You can pee in the morning and afternoon as some find that their afternoon pee is stronger. If I was relying on ovulation tests for IVF, I'd be checking morning, afternoon and evening. But that's me. I would suggest using two different brands. Best of luck.

The lines on ovulation tests are everything. There is almost always a second line on ovulation tests, that is not positive. It is only positive when the second line gets as dark as or darker than the control line. So you can watch the lines getting darker and know your lh surge is coming, but it isn't peak until that line is as dark as or darker than the control, and when you get that you are due to ovulate in the next 24-36 hours. Generally use second urine of the day (most tests say don't use first), sometimes afternoon and before bed.
Also, my clinic do not advise to use the digital ones and say the strips are best. I like easy at home brand which you can get from Amazon.
I'd pee on a cheap one until I got a dark line then confirm with Clearblue as they are getting so bloody expensive.
I normally got my smiley face around 9:30/10am so maybe my second pee of the day.
the digital tests need first urine . The cheapie Amazon ones I use them every few hours when the test line is getting darker 😂 I had to use cheapies this month as my digital was playing up . Xxx
and I ger the one step green ended strips from Amazon . Easy at home are hard to read in my opinion . Good luck X

Opks can take a little getting used to . Have you had any where the control line is as dark as the test ? What day are you ? Don’t worry about testing constantly , I do . I told you they are addictive 😂😂 xxx
No definitely not at dark as control line.
Sat cycle day 8 10am Boots faint line, cheapie a bit darker than Boots.
Sun day 9 8.30am Boots faint line, cheapie line fainter than Sat, CB O.
Today day 10 8am cheapie line same as Sat so darker than Sun.

Yes I did. I’ve been given scripts for meds and my plan so should go ahead if I get the peak from the tests I think. I’m not confident tbh but I just have to trust my Dr as he’s the expert!

Yes only day 10 so guessing I shouldn’t be expecting peak just yet
my clinic are rubbish . I’m sick of waiting . I can’t have my scratch done because the Emma / Alice I was going to have my doctor is unwell . So it’s pointless waiting this cycle . Just rang them to ask why I am waiting another month .. xx
Totally understand your frustration. I missed using my last period due to consultation timing and feels like a long time yet it’s only been less than 2 months since last transfer
I ovulated day 14 so I’m back to normal . They just don’t care 😩 why on earth do I need to wait it’s just pointless ! I usually find my opks start to go darker day 12/13 xxx
My cycles are 30 days so I’m expecting it day 16ish 🙏🏼
My clinic seem to be very no need to wait about everything. I see lots get told to have at least 1 “normal” bleed after a failed FET but I was told I could just go again straight away.
They wanted me to wait three bleeds 😂😂 I said no way so she “let” me do 2 . They have really driven me mad x

you will see it go darker over next few days I would expect . My clinic are very unsupportive. Last cycle with them anyway . I wouldn’t hear from them unless I rang them x

That’s so sad. This journey is stressful enough without feeling you aren’t getting the support from them. I am really appreciative of my clinic and how they respond.
they really haven’t made any of this any easier . If this doesn’t work I’m leaving the clinic . Not feeling like they actually care or are looking out for me has made this journey quite a lonely one .
