Clearblue Ovulation Tests

Hello wonderful ladies,

Just a quick question based on the many posts that I have read. Are the Clearblue ovulation tests meant to flash? My instructions don’t mention anything about a flashy face? I only ever see the static smiley face? Or the blank circle?

Are they supposed to flash as the instructions don’t mention anything about flashing?

Please help!! Thank you xx

Hey lovely it might depend what one’s you have but the ones I had were empty circle when not ovulating, flashing smiley when getting close, solid smiley when actually ovulating. They were the digital ones with the purple test stick. Maybe you have a different one? Xx

Hey Hun, lovely to hear from you - how are you doing? Ahhh that makes sense then. I have the pink sticks, it is very hard to determine the surge if doing FET from these ones. As it seems the static face can appear for days. So I am using the strips. Thank you so much for explaining because I was really baffled about this flashy smiley face which I have found is non-existent

I can’t believe I didn’t know these would be more accurate for FET.

I’m sure it will be fine lovely 🥰 my clinic said they would test my bloods on flashing if I wanted but even when I got solid smiley one time I still had to wait until next day for bloods to show ready to book transfer. I’m doing a down reg medicated one this month so no smileys this time for me 🤣😂 good luck lovely xx

Awww that’s one advantage of doing the medicated version they can control your cycle. I was supposed to have a transfer this month but the cycle has just been cancelled because my transfer would fall on the weekend. Because my LH surge was yesterday. All the best in your cycle xx

Aww that’s rubbish do they not do weekend transfers then?😢 My clinic do them but restrict the number of people they have on cycles they aren’t controlling to limit the chance so hard to get booked on them so I guess it’s the same odds but you know a bit sooner if it’s not gonna be this month. Fingers and toes crossed for next month for you xx

I’m based in London and there is actually a train strike on Saturday so I think that is why or they are fully booked. Weekends are always a risk they did warn me of that with the natural cycle 😏. It’s been a whirlwind 3 days of frantically surge testing. When I saw the surge appear yesterday I just knew that it may get cancelled due to transfer falling on a Saturday. Thank you so much. Xxx

Hi Tracy. Not really got advice as it looks like you have your answers but just thought I'd say I'm doing a FET and for the first time using clearblue in this context. Currently on flashing face and waiting for static face. Best of luck with your cycle xx

Hey Dolphin, aww all the best with your FET. Same here I am doing one for the first time. Really gutted that I didn’t know about the purple sticks. I have been using the pink clear blue and the strips, the strips actually do detect the peak but I would’ve been very interested to use the purple sticks too. Wishing you all the very best with your cycle xxx

Thanks! Xx

I think they flash right before the solid face for peak fertility.

I rarely saw the flashing face..

I find these sticks a bit stressful, but they did work for me.

Yes, circle is low fertility, flashy smiley is high fertility and non-flashy smiley is optimum fertility on my clear blue set. Once you get a non-flashy smiley, it stops reading for that cycle. Good luck! X

Thank you!!! I assume you have the purple sticks. I have now established that I have the wrong ones as mine are pink……
