I just had my partner’s sperm DNA fragmentation back and all was fine, he had 10% which is great. His other levels are also all fine.
We have a history of 3 chemicals, 2 missed miscarriages and 2 ectopics. All tests so far have come out fine. I take quite high dose of supplements but my partner takes none.
As his levels have all come back okay should he not bother with supplements and carry on as is, or should he take them as who knows it could help us? I guess it’s probs best to just do it over not doing it but I’ve only ever heard of people having success after their partner starts taking supplements like impryl / proceive when they’ve had male factor infertility.
Sorry if this is a silly question!

hi there, that’s great news. I would say you shouldn’t bother with Impryl as it’s expensive and it’s meant to boost sperm count and reduce DNA damage, which isn’t necessary in your husband’s case. I would suggest a “normal” daily multivitamin like wellman. Best of luck xx
thanks! Yeah that's what I thought, have ordered him proceive xx
my husband sperm was considered good, but were advised he took Impryl by private clinic. Just because they said it can give the sperm and Egg extra strength to stay together. This was our third round of IVF, both 1st and 2nd rounds we only ever ended up with 1 embryo to transfer. Even though I’ve had 6-8 healthy eggs each time. 1st round didn’t take but all 6 fertilised and only 1 embryo made it to transfer day and 2nd round, was a success again only with 1 strong enough to transfer on transfer day but sadly had a chemical miscarriage around 5weeks . We then went private, I was told to get 5mg folic acid from GP, I also took CoQ10, Vit B, Vit D as I’d read they were beneficial for egg quality. So with my husband on Impryl and me on other supplements we then had 3 embryos come transfer day! I was over the moon as I’d never been able to freeze before. We had 2 transferred and 1 frozen and I’m now 7weeks with twins. Now could have been coincidence as other factors had changed. Such as I changed from shift worker to 9-5 work, I ate healthier, was religious with my supplements. But I honestly think impryl helped us and I would recommend to anyone TTC whether through IVF or naturally. After all it’s a vitamin so won’t cause any harm. Hope that helps? Good Luck x
thanks for sharing your story, it definitely sounds like the Impryl helped you guys!! Congrats on the twin pregnancy, that is amazing. I've just ordered my partner proceive so that it gives us a boost, as you said it's just vitamins so will only help not hinder hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well xx
Our nurse advised that my husband take supplements despite everything looking fine on his test results. You have to give yourselves every chance. He is taking wellman conception.
My partner is taking Proceive and his last analysis was good, so it does seem to help quality. The doctor said to keep doing what he is doing. I'm currently taking the women's version.
Quality changes from month to month, so yes it's probably better to do more than less and certainly can't hurt.
I think try to give him some multivitamin because even though everything seems normal in analysis but there could wrong chromosomal divisions which cause miscarriages. So better to give extra help to sperm and egg for good results. Try to add coq10 as well In your and your husband supplements as well multivitamins like proxeed men is really good we are taking that. Omaga 3 would be best too. Best of luck 🤞
I would definitely, always going to help, my husband has got a hilariously high count & mobility the dr said he should get a certificate and could populate Florida 🤣 but I still always get him on the supplements, he took L-arginine on our last cycle too which he said also made him feel amazing, I always make him eat 5/6 Brazil it’s a day as selenium is very important, I also read walnuts are great too I always think if you take anything that’s natural as well as supplements it’s going to help overall well being
