tiredness and cramping after egg collection. Fresh transfer worries.

Hi everyone. Another day another worry!

Egg collection five days ago (it’s now Tuesday and I had it Friday) and I feel absolutely exhausted. Stomach feels very tender and period pain like on and off.

I’m hoping for a positive call and with any luck I will be having a day 5 transfer tomorrow.

It baffles me how my hormone levels have not been monitored at all this week.

I am on cyclogyst pessaries - surely I can’t do them tomorrow if all goes to plan with transfer ?

Hi Cuppppatea, anxiety central with the stage you are at! Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow. Feeling rubbish is normal at this stage - the change in hormones plus procedure plus worry and stress is not a nice combination. Drink plenty of water and keep an eye on the bloating/discomfort/symptoms of OHSS and call your clinic if you are really suffering. You can and should use the pessary in the morning before transfer. My clinic tells me to and the embryologist mentions it when they phone to give you a time for transfer. It did lead to a slightly awkward conversation one time where the doctor said "I need to clean here first". I must have looked mortified as the nurse went "ah don't worry, you are in quite early today and it's just some pessary residue - totally normal". 🤣 The dignity we lose!!

That's my experience anyway - good luck!! x

Hi, stay positive. Whenever I've had my transfers they advised me to do the pessary straight after the transfer. I hope this helps. Good luck x

Hiya, I'm rooting for you and keeping everything crossed for tomorrow. I used to take cyclogest but the back passage so if you're worried you can consider this. But they clean the area anyway before they proceed with the transfer so you'll be absolutely fine doing it the usual way.

transfer done. Embryo was ‘on its way to to blastocyst but too small for grading’ apparently. On the sofa today, relaxing, eating, hydrating. What a strange and surreal feeling x

You probably had an early blastocyst which cannot be graded the standard way. Wishing you success. Keep yourself busy.
