Hi everyone,

Need some advice. This is our 7th ivf cycle.

Last cycle we had:

Day 9: 4 x 17, 21, 19, 16, 15, 15, 14, 14, 12

Oestradiol 9000

We collected 8 eggs, 5 mature, 1 transferred BFN and 1 mosaic embryo

We are a bit concerned with our numbers for this cycle:

Follicle count at baseline: 22

Day 6 scan : 17, 16, 15, 14, 14, 12, 12

Day 8 scan: 21, 20,20, 18,17, 16,16,16,12,11

Oestradiol 6000.

They are triggering us tomorrow. Does this mean we are looking at getting pretty low numbers of eggs retrieved this cycle? We are embryo banking as we are a same sex couple.

Any replies welcomed!

Good luck for today. You’ve got a good number bigger than 17 mm so I would be pleased with that. More will catch up after the trigger and the wait between trigger and retrieval. I had a much bigger range at your stage and only 1 or 2 bigger than 17 at point of trigger so I’d say you’re in a good position.

Look after yourself today 💜

Thanks! How many did you have/end up retrieving?

I can’t recall exactly but I think 9 were retrieved, 8 fertilised with ICSI, and 6 made it to day 5. My AFC is always higher on scans but the smaller ones are difficult to retrieve/ may not be mature. The fact you have a small size range and a good few above 17mm is great news IMO.

Focus on the positives 💜 You’ve got this 💪🏽

We realised we did the conversions wrong, triggered at 1609 e2. Back to panicking! Do you remember what level you triggered?

Also, look at your progress between day 6 and 8….all going in the direction you want. Sending love 💜

Hi, I think that's looking good. We had 10 follicles 12mm and over at our scan (day 8 of stims). 5 under 17mm and 5 over. Went in for EC 2 days later and got 10 follicles, 9 mature eggs. We ended up with 6 blasts. So sometimes it is quality over quantity and you only need one for a success. They wouldn't be bothering taking you in for EC if they didnt think it would work. Good luck x

Hi, no I don't, sorry. I was just given a single use trigger shot and told the exact time to give myself it. It was a pre-filled syringe so I just followed the instructions. Sorry! x
