I'm struggling. I sleep only few hours, wakes up 3-4 am.... i am also 5 weeks now, and I take steroids, proodnisolone so I'm hoping is because of that. I need take them up until week 12 so not sure how to manage it.....
I spoke with nurses but they cannot make any decision. I was told they will speak to doctor and let me know.... so far not heard back. What if its not because of steriods. ..then we are doomed lol
I’m 7w 2d pregnant and haven’t been sleeping past 4am either. I haven’t spoken with my GP about it yet as I am just trying to listen to my body. I figure it will sleep when it needs to.
If ii need to lie down or nap I do that as well. Not easy during the silly season, I guess having been through this process I am feeling thankful for all the pregnancy symptoms so don’t want to complain about them. 😁
I’d be interested what others say about this. I’m almost 19 weeks now, I haven’t slept past 2am for two months and I’m a wreck. I don’t want to waste my time at the go if they can’t help 🙁
This may not be especially helpful, just reassuring but I think it's completely normal. Pregnancy insomnia is a very common thing in pregnancy at all stages - there are YouTube videos about it - it tends to be confounded in later stages by the physical effects like being uncomfortable, having heartburn etc, but earlier I think it's hormones. My last pregnancy and this one I rarely sleep past 3/4am and I never normally have trouble sleeping. I ended up getting up and working (and at this time of year, baking and cooking!) as I felt like I had energy at this time, but from midday I am exhausted and often have to have a nap - that obviously only works if you have flexible working, or weekends etc, but maybe getting up for even a short while could help as I found the lying bed bed, tired but unable to sleep too frustrating and I was still tired all day, and sometimes just getting a drink and reading for half an hour then going back to bed can help x
Hi! I had sleep difficulties throughout. Didn't take any medication but found that going for a longer walk during the day helped. That and having lots of pillows. Good luck!
