Unusual tummy pains after retrieval.

I had my egg retrieval 3 days ago & for the last couple of days I’ve had the kind of tummy pains you get when you’re constipated….except I’m not constipated. It’s almost like the pain is really low down by my pelvic bone. I can feel it when I cough & sometimes I can feel it when I pee! It’s feels like trapped wind but I don’t think it is trap wind.

I’m not sure if it’s a result of my egg retrieval or a side effect from the cyclogest….or something unrelated. Has anyone else had anything similar to this?

On the egg front, only 3 fertilised & none are looking particularly great currently. Fingers crossed at least one makes a miraculous recovery! I’ve not given up yet!

Hi 😊 I had my egg retrieval a couple of weeks ago and I had the exact same pain for about 8 days along with severe bloating. I'm not sure on the cause but it disappeared after around 8 days, around 3dpt. I don't think it's the cyclogest though as I'm still taking those but the pains totally gone.

Sorry that doesn't give you any answers, just wanted to reassure you you're not alone and i don't think the pain is out of the ordinary. My doctor wasn't concerned when I asked him.

Sending good luck and baby dust ✨

Thanks replying. It’s good to know I’m not the only one with this weird discomfort. Good luck to you too!!! 👍

Hi everyone,

I had the same thing. I think it’s stool passing through the system and being close to your sore ovaries. Should go away in a week as you heal from the surgery. Take panadol if the pain is too much

I had the exactly same thing, I had my egg retrieval and had really severe pain which felt like trapped wind. It did pass after a few days and I helped it with pain killers.

Best of luck with your eggs.

Thanks everyone. I think I’m overthinking it because I didn’t have any after effects with my first round. Second time feels very different!
