Low first beta at 14pt5dt

Hello ladies.

My first beta this morning was 79, I know it’s a very low number and I have to repeat the blood draw in a week (I’ll be at 21pt5dt). What are my chances? None, right? :( I feel very depressed right now, I almost would have preferred a lower HCG level to be able to quit all meds and move on…

By the way, today the stupid Easy@Home was darker with second morning urine, so I think they are totally unreliable.

I'm sorry you're in one of the 'down' phases of this nightmarish rollercoaster! <3 I'm no expert, but I would definitely say you're not out. Everything I've read says that the important thing is the doubling rate, rather than the number to begin with. Don't count yourself out. Hang in there. x

I agree with PineappleCrumble. I also agree with you those Easy at Home tests are horrendous! I can understand how you are feeling today but the truth is that you are not out yet and it could just be a slow starter, and we all know that sometimes the slow ones win the race. So try to believe that and relax, as you can do nothing more now until your next test. If your instinct is right and it is chemical, you won't feel any better or worse for having punished yourself all week. But it might not be chemical and you might get a pleasant surprise! Be kind to yourself and know we are all hoping the best for you x

It's gonna be ok. Fingers crossed that in two days will be double.

got my fingers crossed for you. Can I ask you how you measure your beta? Ie how did you know it was at 79? Thanks

Thanks. Beta HCG levels are measured through a blood test.

Thanks, are there at home tests that you do? Or do you have them via a clinic? Thanks again

I know there are some home tests that you can do using a small blood sample collected from the tip of your finger, but usually you did it in a clinic (through a venous sampling from the arm).

hi, the actual number doesn’t mean much, there is a massive normal range. It can still double every 48 hours and show a progressing pregnancy. Good luck, it’s a horrible wait, I’ve been there more than once but it can still be ok x 🙏🙏🍀🍀
