TWW and beyond exercise and relaxation advice

Hi my superhero warriors

I haven't posted in a while. I have one FE, which is due for transfer next Tuesday. I got it tested and all good.

I have been using the gym and meditation and yoga a lot to cope with a lot of stress in my life.

Obviously, I can't do the gym etc during the TWW and not sure about after, was hoping you lovely ladies could perhaps give me some tips on how you manage stress and, should this be successful, which exercise is permitted during pregnancy?

Trying not to get my hopes up, but I want to be prepared whatever the outcome.

Sending lots of love and baby dust to you all.xxx

lots of ppl say pregnancy yoga is fine and lots of walking - just nothing high intensity/no heavy weights etc.

Why don’t you try specialist fertility acupuncture before and after transfer , my daughter swears by it. Helps relieve your stress and also blood flow to uterus . Good luck with the transfer 🍀👶

Hi Weegran

I actually tried acupuncture to relieve stress, it wasn’t for me but it was fertility specialist and considering it’s less than a week away from transfer I think it may be a little late for me to try that now.

Thank you for the suggestion though xxx

I was told it's fine - and encouraged! - to keep doing whatever exercise you were doing before pregnancy (well, within reason, kickboxing may not be the best idea...), including in the TWW as it helps blood flow to the uterus. I think unless you have health issues, sitting around and suddenly cutting off things that helped you mentally and physically, can be more damaging than physical exersion. Women still run marathons, play sport... and keeping fit, your heart up and your muscles and joints flexible and strong can be so beneficial during pregnancy and helps recovery. I was told just not to take up anything new or extreme, and be sensible. This pregnancy I've been kayaking in mangroves, reef snorkelling, swimming loads and doing stretches and pilates, and honestly the difference it's made to my back (which was killing me when I'd taken a bit of a break from exercising due to illness) and my mood, has been massive. Massages are also great, and plenty of rest is also important (I fall asleep in the middle of the day, almost without warning). However if you're going to worry and look back in hindsight that something you did affected the outcome, then don't do it as it's not worth the mental anguish, just whatever you're comfortable with and don't feel that you have to stop living and enjoying things x
