Hello, anyone who has gone through IVF and PGT testing with CRGH in London through the NHS? How was your experience? I am trying to get a referral for it and I wanted to know how it is as I cannot find any information on the timelines or anything.Thank you so much
PGT test for BCRA2 gen : Hello, anyone... - Fertility Network UK
PGT test for BCRA2 gen
Hi Amarillo, we had PGT-A testing done during our first cycle through the NHS earlier this year.
From confirmation/payment to receiving our results took about 4 weeks.
We had 4 x 6 day embryos and 1 came back viable but unfortunately did not implant. The explanation we got was PGT-A only tests for a certain number of defects so could have been down to an untested issue or my lining just wasn’t receptive (I had a natural FET).
We’re about to start our 3rd cycle (privately) and considering whether to undergo the testing. Our consultant is pushing for it. I turn 42 next week.
Happy to help with other questions - we now have lots of experience!
Hi. Please, if mentioning clinics by name, please do so by PM. Thanks. Diane
We are having PGD IVF there for a genetic condition on the NHS. We had the initial referral put in October 2021, we were seen for initial testing and appointments the following January. Treatment could have started in April, they only have so many places for each financial year, so you would most likely need to wait until then for egg collection. We unfortunately haven't had any success, but our experience with the clinic has always been good.
Happy to answer any questions you have
Hello Butterfly756, thank you for your reply. We are having our first consultation appointment next week. I am really excited about this journey although I know it's going to be difficult. I am also quite nervous about the uncertainty of the whole process... Are there any questions you think are useful to ask in the first consultation? I am a bit lost. Thank you
Great that you are have your first consultation! I wouldn't worry too much about having lots of questions for your initial consultation, as it is already load of new information you will be given. We had appointments with both the consultant and the genetic counselor, which were both really useful. The genetic counselor in particular made sure we had properly thought about this and considered our options before starting. You'll also have a nurse appointment before you start any treatment, so there are lots of people to make sure you understand what you are doing! I've always found the uncertainty and the waiting the hardest. I expect that they will start all your tests to get you ready to start in April. I do remember our first appointment being a little overwhelming trying to get your head round how it all works, we knew so little when we first started! Feel free to message if you need any help making sense of anything! Happy to send you our timeline if that helps
I won't mention the clinic but I'm with the one you referred to. I had pgs but privately. I had the genetic normally embryos then progressed to check anything else like the endo triome test. And other implantation issues. It's amazing to know about it all. Read Up on the endo triome test defo worth the money and heartache x
