has anyone had a biopsy on endometrium without being out to sleep?

hi my doctor told me to come in to his office and he would take a sample of my endometrium whilst awake. Apparently it’s normal but I’m terrified of the pain. Has anyone done it?

Hello, I have done it. It's not the most pleasant thing and obviously everyone is different but I coped okay and took paracetamol first. Also had husband with me to have a hand to squeeze! It does not last long luckily Good luck with whatever you decide.

it’s alike a Smear in my opinion. I found it a little nippy for a min but quick, in/out done. They gave me paracetamol before. Try not to worry, it’s a quick one. All the best for it.

Hi, It's not pleasant, but it is bearable. Just concentrate on what the doctor is saying as they try to distract you by talking you through it and watch the screen. That helped me. I was having an examination at the same time, so mine might have been longer, but I took paracetamol prior and tried to relax. If you struggle to relax, concentrate on relaxing your jaw muscles and dropping your shoulders, that seems to work. Good luck.

Hi, yes I had it done a couple of times and had a polyp removed from my uterus whilst awake too. A couple of ibuprofen should help you get through it. Good luck!

I just had it done last week. It's a little painful but only lasts a few minutes. I took ibuprofen before it and got usual mild cramps afterwards much like a smear.

Hi To be honest it was very bad. I have a very high tolerance for pain but the biopsy was super painful.

However I heard it depends on the doctor’s skill as well. I remember I had done one before my first iui and it wasn’t much of a big deal and very quick.

Now I am thinking maybe it depends how thick the endometrium is bcuz this time mine was very thin. And biopsy wasn’t a success so dr told me to come back and this time she did it with sedation.

I hope you’ll have a good one.
