Hi
I have an embryo graded 4b-b+ from day 6. Online I’ve been reading that it’s not good as it’s from day 6. It would have been better if it was from day 5.
Does anyone know? Thank you in advance

hi Sabrina
I am sorry I can’t really answer your question, but I’m not sure if the answer is straight forward.
After our first failed cycle I had an appointment with the embryologist and asked about the grading and he said basically each place creates their own grading system.
I have read online about embryos hatching on day 6 tho and this sometimes improves chance of implantation.
Wishing you lots of luck!
I have a little boy from a day 6 4BB embryo! He’s 3 years old and conceived where 9 other (mainly day 5 and/or higher grade embryos) had failed.
They have just taken a little longer to reach the right stage but you definitely have a good chance with that grade whether it’s day 5 or 6. Lots of luck.
Was just about to type the same thing!! My little boy is a day 6 equivalent of a b grade embryo.
I understand that day 6 embryos have a slightly lower implantation rate but there really isn’t much in it.
I also had 4 transfers of 5 embryos fail before this one stuck. 3 of those were day 5 and 4 of them better graded!
Best of luck!
Thank you. It gives me hope 😊
May I ask you both (Solly-44 and Kittykat198) if it was a fresh cycle or frozen and what medication you were on before and during the 2WW?
Frozen for me and my medication was pretty basic - 3 cyclogest a day and 3 progynova. I did try lubion for a couple of other transfers but never got a bfp that way xx
I actually fell pregnant twice (miscarried at 9 weeks 3rd cycle and my little boy) both from fet. I only had a chemical from fresh rounds).
I was on similar to solly-44, utrogeston pesseries twice a day and lubion injections twice and oestrogen tablets. I have pcos though and low progesterone hence the extra lubion. I also had aspirin and was offered steroids but decided against them (didn’t need them anyway in the end).
Best of luck!
When did they check your progesterone? Last FET I was on Cyclogest twice a day and lubion once. I did enquire about my progesterone levels but told I was on enough.
Our clinic didn’t check either but I had a transfer where I started bleeding day 3 after transfer while just on the pesseries. I had a whole complaint about them not testing my progesterone as it had been low previously when tested after I had clomid. This was full on heavy period bleeding not spotting.
After the transfer inevitably failed, they said the bleeding was low progesterone and put me on lubion too.
When I was on both, our clinic said the same that I was on enough. Tbf I was and managed to get a positive test in the next three rounds (miscarriage, chemical from fresh round and baby).
I’ve since heard they have started routinely checking progesterone though.
Hi Sabrina! I was told by my clinic that a day 6 embryo only has less chance of implanting if used in a fresh transfer. The reason being is the body’s receptivity is a day off - it’s at its prime on day 5. However for a frozen transfer, the odds of the day 6 embryo are just as good as a day 5! This is due to the protocol for the frozen transferring enabling you to receive the embryo at the optimal time. I have a day 5 BC embryo and a day 6 BB embryo on ice and the clinic said the day 6 will have a better shot at working! Hope that helps x
Thank you for sharing 😊
