We will be doing a FET shortly following a failed fresh transfer.
It hadn't worried me until now because we were sure this cycle would be successful.
We have 2 frosties, - 5 day blastocysts, both 3bb/3bc
I'm worried that they wont thaw 
Just looking for reassurance, i'm hoping its a very very small chance that blastos don't thaw these days.
Opinions/ experiences? good or bad i want to hear them

We didn't have anything to freeze after my first cycle, but in the second cycle we transferred one and froze one. The fresh transfer didn't work and I mentioned to the nurse that I had concerns about the single frozen one not making it through the thaw. She said it's very rare for that to happen and didn't seem too concerned at all that our transfer would end up being cancelled. Sure enough, the thaw was fine and the embryologist said that the embryo looked just as good as it had before it was frozen. I'm 10 weeks pregnant now with that embryo.
Like you, I had no known reason why implantation would fail the first (or second) time, but unfortunately this is just common. I believe that my body was more ready for the frozen transfer, having not just gone through the trauma of the egg retrieval process. Hopefully this will be the same for you too.

It seems alot of people have success with the FET compared to fresh, I guess everybody is different and some people just need a more relaxed cycle.
I feel a little better about the thawing process now and i'm sure that it is a very very slim chance so hopefully we aren't unlucky!

My clinic said around 95% used to survive but with improved thawing techniques it’s now closer to 99%.
We’ve thawed 9 in total and all have been ok. Loads of luck x

Our first set of embryos were frozen on day 3, thawed and let grow to day 5 to do PGS testing, frozen again and then thawed again for FET. At some point I got really worried, but it all was ok x
I’ve had a recent FET and we had two to thaw, was also very concerned…but all was well, in TWW currently. Best of luck x
I’ve had 3 FETs (1 success and 2 fails) and all embryos thawed fine. They said it’s a small chance but I understand it’s also a worry. About to have my fourth transfer in a few weeks x
the clinics all have their own % for this (our is in the high 90s) but generally it’s between 95-99% success rates. I worry about this every single time but especially when I only have one on the freezer! We have had 6 frozen transfers and all thawed fine though. Your embryologist will take you through it and the risks etc they have always been really helpful with my concerns. Good luck! Xx
I had a similar worry with my frozen eggs as there is a higher loss from thawing. I did a fresh cycle and then thawed my eggs to fertilise all together I needn't have worried as 6 out of 7 eggs thawed and 2 became blasts, only 1 of my fresh eggs did. I know it's different but embryos usually cope better and I keep telling myself that some people elect to do freeze all cycles and so the risk must be really low. Fingers crossed. I'll be going through the same in August x
Hi. I think when I signed the forms it’s about a 10% chance. I’ve had 2 frozen transfers both absolutely fine and I was worried sick about them till I got the call the day of the transfer to say they were fine. Happy to say I’m pregnant now from one of our Frosties so it worked better than any fresh transfer xx
I’m on baby no 3 and lots of rounds to get there. 2 of my babies are Frosties and never had any that didn’t thaw. You have to wonder if they didn’t thaw maybe there was an issue with them anyway. Try not to stress over this !
We've defrosted over 20 embys over the last three years and not one has NOT survived the thaw. They don't survive in my body, but that's another story. I wouldn't worry about it. Best of luck x
heya. As everyone said, yes technically it can go wrong, but it’s very very rare. I’ve heard of very few cases. I’ve had 7 FETs and all thawed perfectly 💪

My clinic say that there is a 90% chance that the embryos will thaw just fine. So the odds are definitely in your favour xx
Don’t worry about that, chances are really low with modern technology. We had our first ever embryo transfer in June, it was frozen in march, day 5 blast 6AA and stayed 6AA after thawing. I was very worried because I was reading that 6AA can get “bad” after thawing because they are already hatched and more sensitive. Well, I’m pregnant and i have first scan tomorrow (6+5), so it went great. Also, fresh transfer statistically has a bit lower % of successful pregnancy, so many doctors recommend FET straight up (I’m in USA), gives your body time to go back to normal after all stims.
