I have had 2 failed ivf.No money again to do another one.
Hubby and I are planning to go for ovulation induction, at least that is what we can afford now.
Please is it ok to go for ovulation induction after 2 failed ivf?

Hi SopI can't really give you any advice on what you should do as it totally depends on the reason for requiring IVF/Ovulation induction.
I do not ovulate on my own so I was able to access ovulation induction funded by the NHS. I got pregnant on my second cycle but unfortunately lost my girl in the second trimester due to trisomy 21. I then conceived my son after another 5 cycles.
When we wanted to add a sibling into the mix I was advised to go for IVF and we were self funding due to already having a child. I did not respond well to the meds and only had one follicle. Clinic advised us to cancel the cycle but we converted it to an IUI and we were giving the odds of 5-10% chance of conception but we were lucky enough to conceive my second son through this. So essentially this was another round of ovulation induction.
So ovulation can definitely work but I think the odds of each cycle being successful are similar to that of trying naturally each month with no issues so it can take a few cycles to work and it is very dependent on the reason for requiring assistance in conceiving.
Wishing you all the best in your journey and lots of baby dust xx
Hi there,
I’m being treated with ovulation induction, but not due to PCOS. I ovulate on my own but have a short Luteal phase and the ovulation induction is supposed to create a stronger ovulation and help that. Plus I’m given an HCG shot to release the egg from the follicle on time and help time intercourse.
I’m not a Dr but was told it was suitable
-if tubes are open
-if sperm is normal (as otherwise it may need the help of IUI)
So i expect it’s worth looking into if those factors are fine for you and I’m sure a Dr can advise or do tests on them.
I’m also aware there are different drugs used for induction (eg Clomid, Letrozole, etc) and in varying doses so Drs can tweak that if you don’t ovulate on the first try.
Good luck!
I was given lentrazole after my second round of failed Ivf but didn’t get the chance to use it so it is prescribed. I have pcos and am also a terrible ovulator and am not good at ovulating on my own. Consultant was happy to give us some northisterone and lentrazole while we decided about more Ivf and finished miscarrying.
Lentrazole apparently has better success rates than clomid for pcos.
I have previously taken tamoxifen and clomid which were unsuccessful for me but I have 2 friends who both have babies (now children) from clomid. Both friends have pcos.
Best of luck
