Two weeks after my surgical removal of miscarriage I have tested positive on my ovulation sticks. My doctor has said to give it a go if we want to and see if we have any luck naturally before we can start another FET. However as I have PCOS I don’t know if the test is a false positive or not. I found that you can buy tests that tell you if you have ovulated. I’m in two minds on whether to buy them as. But I do like the element of control and knowing what’s going on in my body.
so I just wondered if anyone had any experience of them, good or bad?
Thanks 💕xxx

I have PCOS too so it’s always difficult to tell exactly when I’ve ovulated.
I’ve tried numerous tests- the strips, clear blue digital ovulation device, Mira device and most recently the Ovu core. Out of all of those I have found the ovu core to be the most accurate (as ovulation was confirmed on a scan shortly after). It’s not easy to use though!
I’ve heard the Mira pgd tests may help but can’t comment as I have never tried them.
If the test is showing you’re in your window, I wouldn’t waste it tbh but I know my positive ovulation strips tests have usually been inaccurate.
Thanks for the response. This is really helpful and I didn’t realise there were so many options!
I’m not sure I can justify the cost of the ovu core 😬 I really would like to know if I have ovulated but hubby says does it really matter if we know or not as we’ll find out in a couple of weeks when we do a pregnancy test, then we’ll be straight on to an FET cycle if negative. But I just like to *know* 🤷🏽♀️
So I might try one of the cheaper options like proov. I’m also not sure if you can really know if you didn’t test from start of cycle (which isn’t really clear as I’ve just had a miscarriage 🙁)
I’m so sorry for your loss with your recent miscarriage. I had a silent miscarriage back in October last year and it took over 2 months for my body to get back to some kind of normal. I hope you’re looking after yourself as much as you can as you’ve been through, and are still going through a lot. Even on the days you feel rubbish, keep pushing on as best you can as there are so many positive stories on this forum from ladies who have been through what we have, and have had their rainbow babies.
The main reason I bought the Ovu Core was so I could have some endometrial testing at the implantation clinic- but although the ovucore was close, I still think it was a couple of days out in my case, as my results were “inconclusive ” and I’ve been advised to repeat it 🤦🏻♀️
Anyway, best of luck with everything and sending you love. Xx
If worried about using test to see if ovulating - do not use them Try having sex at least every 2nd/ 3rd evening - the more you try , the more chances you may fall pregnant Take a look at fertilitynetworkuk.org for more info about all fertility aspects
I think this time period was always a bit of a gamble as i don’t really know what my body is doing post miscarriage. And I was surprised to see a positive result which makes me doubt it and think it could be a false positive. It’s more out of curiosity that I’d like to know. We will keep trying just in case but we are lined up for an FET cycle just in case.
