Advice please - possibly starting stims today - unsure of timings after withdrawal bleed.

Hello All,

I’m hoping you wonderful people can offer some advice. This is our first round of IVF, I’ve been on a course of provera for 16 days, finished this on Friday 10th and started light bleeding on Saturday (11th) which is continuing. I’m due to start menopur on CD1 and was advised to wait until the evening after consistent flow.

Wondering if I should go ahead and begin this tonight as I had expected to wait a few days between finishing the Provera and getting the withdrawal bleed. I’m not sure if the continuing light bleed is my actual period or if this will follow in forthcoming days.

Don’t want to start menopur too early but also afraid of waiting and not getting a heavier period.

Clinic closed over the weekend so if anyone has any advice or reassurance that would be really appreciated.

I can’t give you advice but I can tell you that from my own experiences.

My periods are irregular and I’ve had no end of stress working out which day is the first day of my period and can completely sympathise. I have had three fresh cycles and definitely started stims on different days as period starting is definitely not as clear as would seem! I do not think it had much impact on the success tbh.

The best advice I got was in my last round. The nurse said if bleeding started before 12, that’s cd1. After 12 and cd1 is the next day. Therefore if period started yesterday pm, then today is cd1. She said it’s the first full day of period and not the day it’s the heaviest (which was my confusion).
