Hi Lee, I was advised not to as it increases the risk of infection. Good luck on your journey! X

Hi Lee,I continued to swim throughout my IVF process as it helped as a stress relief - although I had to avoid a shower at least 30 mins before injections or the warmth gave me bruises - I had to ice before each one but then generally always bruise easily!

I wasn't told it would increase infection but if others were told that it could be worth checking with your clinic just in case.

Good luck xx

you can swim before egg collection but not after (risk of infection) and not after transfer (same reason) is the advice of my clinic. Personally I would also give it a miss a few days before egg collection too just in case the chlorine lingers (as we’ve to be scent free for egg collection and transfer as it can damage the sterile environment for the eggs). Hope that helps xx

I asked and was told not to due to risk of infection. Best of luck x

Hi Lee. Best to stay clear just in case you should pick up any infection. Hope all goes well with your cycle. Diane
