TWW - what do you do?

Hey all,

I’m going to be having my transfer in a couple of weeks of time and was wandering what do you do during your two week wait?!

Do you take time off work? Or do you go into work? If at home, what do you do?!

last time I remember being at home, as I work in a school and was worried about getting covid or catching other bugs!

But I was thinking this time round whether to go back to work or have the time off to myself.

Is it best to keep active? What are your thoughts/experiences?!

Sending positive vibes to all💕

Hi Turquoise Water

I had my first transfer a couple months ago and I took no time off work, including that day of transfer. It ended up being a really stressful couple days at work and I spent most the week worrying that the stress caused the embryo to not stick!

All going well, I will have a transfer next week. This time I am going to take the whole week off and plan to fill it with doing jigsaws, reading, binge watching shows, walking my dogs etc as I still want distractions. I don't think a week is necessary but I still have a lot of leave to take before the end of the work year.

I think if you have leave to take, it's a good time to take a couppe days, but it certainly isn't a necessity.

Good luck!

Hello,

It is so difficult and totally personal preference and depends on how stressful your job is. Sure you will get mixed reviews on here as we are all different.

I have done both had a week off and went away and it sadly didn’t work. Then I went to work carried on with my normal life and was lucky enough to have worked.

I am currently on my 2WW and gone back to work again.

I listened to a podcast and on there this doctor said, I’d you walked up a mountain 🏔️ and it didn’t work you blame that. If you stayed in best and rest for the whole time and it didn’t work you would blame that. The doctor went on to explain as long as you are keeping hydrated, eating well and taking your medication, you are doing everything in your power!! For this was was like a penny dropping, she was right. It is either going to work or not and out of our control.

Please do what you think is best for yourself, wishing you lots of 🍀 luck 🍀 xxx

Great response! You are 100% right, I just need to do what I feel is best for myself and body so that I know I’ve given it all that I can! 💕

I’ve tried all the ways, I think a mixture is best for me ie a couple of days for transfer and then back to work to keep my mind occupied but everyone is different (and every transfer can be different too) xxx

Thank you for responding! A mixture defo sounds like a good idea. Last time I was home until my otd then I went in to work after. That was in the summer when we had longer days, now it’s winter I’m inclined to hibernate in the warmth!! xx

Hi TurquoiseWater. Whatever you do, you must keep busy, so perhaps keep working if it's not too stressful. A nightmare time, because you have had all this treatment, even a straight forward FET can be stressful, then you are left with your pessaries!! All I can say is "Good luck"! Diane

Thank you! I think I need to make a list of things I want to do so that I’m not just sat in front of the Tv all day! I’m having Lubion injections so don’t know what’s worse, then or the pesssaries! Thanks for the good luck vibes! 💕

Hello 🙂,

I agree with everyone above. Each person is different.

My first transfer was fresh and I went back to work straight after to keep myself busy. My first transfer didnt work but i have just had a FET on the 10th so i'm currently in my 2 ww. I took the day of the transfer off, and the following day, and filled my day with my favourite netflix programmes and took it easy.

I have been going on lots of small walks (5k) maybe 3/4 a week to distract myself. My other half has been amazing too. He has been taking me on coffee dates (decaff that is) and making me laugh loads too.

I wish you all the best when your transfer comes. This is a stressfull process as it is so go easy on yourself and do what feels right for you. xxx

I had the day of the transfer off and then a few days off afterwards and I threw myself into some DIY projects as we’d just bought a house so I was stripping wallpaper and getting any stress out on that! It also tired me out enough to be too exhausted to overthink about the transfer 😂

We have lots of odd jobs to do around the house that haven’t been done since we moved in so maybe I will do that too whilst I’m off! Obviously without over doing it! Lol
