I’m back and already have the sense of dread 😂

Hi my lovelies. I was incredibly lucky to have my boy last year following a fresh transfer. We have some frosties so we are going to try a FET for the first time. I’m really nervous as we don’t want to do a fresh round again so we need to get the protocol right early in order not to waste our precious embies. Already the extreme anxiety and dread have set in from going through the process last time. It always just felt like such a battle to get what I needed (even just to even speak to a nurse was hard work), especially enough progesterone to keep the bleeding at bay.

I have blood tests booked and was surprised they want FSH and LH for FET. Anyone know why these matter when not doing fresh? My periods have returned as normal and seem regular. I don’t know whether they even do natural FET-maybe just to help decide?

I also have a 7 day baseline scan rather than 2-3 day-assume to look at lining?

xx

If unsure ask the clinic/nurse to explain the timeline to you again Bloods being repeated so they have an up to date result rather than last years results

Oh I will, I was just surprised from a biological perspective they wanted to measure FSH and LH for a frozen transfer that I assume would be medicated. xx

Hey lovely! Welcome back! (Sort of!) does seem a bit weird doesn’t it? But guess there must be some logic!? I had a baseline scan on day 4 if I remember tightly to check lining was thin and everything was quiet ovary wise. I was down regged though and I know some medicated FETs don’t bother with that so maybe that’s where day 7 comes in? Keep us updated and wishing you heaps of luck xx

I feel mad for doing this when he hasn’t even quite turned 1 but at 41 I don’t have time on my side so here we go! Xx

hi! I’ve done a few FETs and the scan is always 8/9 days after you start the meds to check lining thickness and decide when to start progesterone. You can do natural with FET though I have never done this before.

This is a 7 day baseline (before we have had a consult). I had a 2-3d baseline scan before starting the whole fresh process so was a little surprised at day 7. Wonder if it’s also in case natural is option. Xx

I am doing a FET and I was scanned the month before on day 9 just to check everything down there. And he did an endo scratch too. Not sure it was like a specific day of my cycle per se that he wanted to see me. I then had a scan at day 11 once I started the estrogen to check womb lining. Hope that helps. X

I just wanted to reply to say I’m exactly the same as you! Starting again for a sibling for our IVF little miracle. Starting earlier due to age and fertility issues. I’m more relaxed, but I didn’t lift anything last time and relaxed. This time I also have a 1 year old , lifting him / carrying him and also working part time.

It feels quite surreal doesn’t it? Can’t get around the lifting and carrying so I suppose I just have to not think about it! Best of luck xx
