Hi ladies
Has any of you used BUPA insurance to cover cost of blood tests related to miscarriage investigations?
Thanks
in my experience they refuse to cover anything related to fertility investigations and that includes miscarriage testing x
why am not surprised?
I wonder why we bother getting these insurances?
have you tried them?
Thanks
BUPA? Yes I had them when I had several miscarriages and also Vitality insurance. I think it’s incredibly sexist not to cover even just basic infertility investigations. I can understand not covering IVF or if I was aged 50 and wanting fertility investigations but most of us are young women experiencing several losses which puts us in a very small percentage of the population
With BUPA they refused to cover a private HSG on my remaining tube after I nearly died when the other one ruptured from an ectopic pregnancy and the NHS wait time was several months ….by the time I’d argued it with them that it would cost more in hospital stays if it happened again….it did. Made sure I claimed the maximum hospital stay off them - definitely more than the cost the HSG would have been to them - certainly was in no Hurry to discharge myself from the private hospital
Agree with Ivfgotadream-they won’t touch anything fertility related. I had a fibroid diagnosed on a scan a while ago and they won’t cover removing it because the main reason I want it removed is for IVF. Really rubbish considering we have no NHS coverage for fertility treatment at all in my area either xx
Hi Preety. It is doubtful, but do ask, you may get something if not directly related to fertility. Good luck! Diane
