Proxeed or impryl

Just had 2nd round of IVF which failed. Feel so down at the moment. So desperate to have a baby already spent hundreds of pounds on suppliments not sure which ones are good. My husband has sperm morphology he also puts on weight very easily, doctor has suggested weight to be kept under control. I have read proxeed and Impryl are good supplements to improve the quality of the sperm.. does anyone have any advice on this. Can they both be taken on alternative days. Or does anyone have positive results from any other suppliments. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks

We were successful when my partner was on impryl (previously was on proxceed) but that could be down to lots of factors.

I would recommend bio quinine COQ10 for females also methyl folate.

Thanks for the reply. It's interesting to see what has been beneficial to other people. Someone else also mentioned CoQ10. I will make a list of recommendations and ask the doctor which ones are mostly suited to us. Partner did take impryl and multivitamin but not all the time I think probably more dedication is needed from him.... Congratulations on your successful pregnancy.

Thanks so much and yes my partner was the same but after about round 4 we agreed on a lot of lifestyle changes for him which seemed to have an effect over time (in addition to the supplements).

No alcohol, caffeine, cycling, running….the list goes on! 😆

Good luck RT x

Have you asked the Drs/nurses at your clinic which one would be more suitable as they both work on a different time scale. And they may suggest other supplements that may be helpful

Wishing you good luck for the future

Hi lovely

I’d have him take both (one Impryl in the morning and 1 sachet Proxeed in the evening). They contain different ingredients - Impryl is mostly B vitamins, whereas Proxeed has vitamins C, E, Carnitine etc - so def beneficial to take both. They won’t do much if not taken regularly though, so I’d tell your partner to buckle down! ;)

Thanks for the reply....I was not sure if both suppliments could be taken. When you Google there is so much on there it all becomes confusing..,.. I have never posted anything before I am glad I did as the replies from everyone are very helpful all from genuine people who understand the situation I am grateful. The replies also make you realise you are not alone there are other people who have had similar experience.....I agree partner needs to play more part.. trust me I have got frustrated at times especially when I am the one having all the injections, going through the physical process and he moans or forgets to take suppliments which I take religiously. Thank you once again.

Website says very specifically not to take any antioxidant with impryl so avoid proxeed when taking impryl you could do more harm than good. Something about DNA fragmentation and decondensation on the website that effect the sperm. Best to take impryl only with a good diet and make those lifestyle changes mentioned above. Don't overload with supplements that don't have any real evidence. At least impryl has some clinical data. Best of luck. X
