Ive got an appointment with Thames Valley Fertility Maidenhead next week and wondered if anybody has used them and what good or bad experiences you may have had or any watch outs? Plz send me a little DM - I will really appreciate?
Have they been good with investigating any mcs? Ive had 4 mcs and I know IVF is not the ultimate solution but would like to know how they reacted after any mcs!
Plz & thanks

hi Preety, I have only been there for acupuncture which is really good and it was the clinic I was referred to by nhs but for whatever reason I ended up somewhere else. I kind of wish that I tried TVF as they seemed quite good (I attended their webinar last year). Do let me know any feedback you get if anyone has tried them as I may go to them if my next 2 cycles don’t work.
I was with two ARGC - I never got to start as I moved. Then The Evewell which I would strongly NOT recommend especially their new Hammersmith branch. Now I’m with Lister and will see what happens, one successful cycle but PGTA results not good so couldn’t do FET, am on to my 2nd cycle now.
Saya is right they don’t advocate for u and are not detailed or proactive enough especially if u are older or there are some issues that they see as reducing the statistics of success.
I sometimes think maybe it would be better to see what’s available abroad but that’s also a big step practically and emotionally. It’s best to discuss all this with your partner if u are doing with someone abducted make the choice that suits you best.
Hi I have used them 3 times and all 3 times the director had changed but they were good doctors. They are a lovely team, not condescending or rude, patient and professional which in comparison to some of the horror stories on here is a very reassuring thing. They seem clued on to most of the treatment options and good meds that they use, but i would say to anyone going through ivf do your own research(!) push for monitoring and testing and dont assume they look over your records in great detail. You must be your own advocate
Unfortunately across the industry theres such a lets just try and see what happens approach, they leave so much of it up to chance and only tweak things when things go wrong.
I am considering whether to change clinics myself for next FET but that's more to do with my own individual issue, I'm not sure if another UK clinic will be much better (unless you just throw money at it) as they don't seem to be proactive like clinics abroad in general.
However I would say on balance it is a good clinic. I will be having my review with them soon so will see what else they offer in terms of miscarriage and implantation failure investigation.
P. S. Miscarriage investigation across the board is verrry poor in clinics. Tommy's is a charity that specialise in this, i believe you may have to be referred to them but if you've had 3.MCs or more you should be eligible. I would contact them first before going for ivf regardless.
Also if you are prone to early bleeding or early miscarriages I would definitely look at progesterone support and levels. Often that can be the most common cause and most cheapest and overlooked problem. I don't know why uk clinics are sooooo ignorant and obstinate about monitoring it when it reallycan make all the difference x
M actually worried of the approach u saud, lets try it and see if it works rather than lets do everything we can do to prevent mcs from the beginning ;(
Yes it's incredibly disheartening, and like I was syaing a nationwide issue. however they did agree to monitor my progesterone this cycle which was good so I would try and research as much as you can beforehand and go in prepared with questionsTheir responses will give you any reassurance you need /confidence in them.
Also look at the different consultants they have as they all have their own specialties too
