This is my 4th cycle, have no tubes and haven’t had any frozen embryos. I'm at a new clinic and have AMH of 3. I'm 38 and started menopur 375 with frymedel. I'm on day 7 of stimms yesterday dr called to say after my scan 2 of the 7 follicles are growing bigger than expected and they may do an early EC (Wednesday) or leave this cycle and see if I get more the next. I have a scan today to check, just wondering if anyone has been in the same position. 🥺

I have been in a similar position but with one follicle racing ahead of the others. I have had multiple cycles too. I would say to see what today's scan brings and what the recommendation is. You have had previous cycles and although every cycle is different you can use that information to assess whether you think things can be better if you were to try a different cycle. X
The consultant said it to me like this. If you are going to do this once and thinking about financially if another round may be difficult then wait as he thought I should have more follicle. If I am going to try again regardless (multicycle package purchased) then I should go ahead as he calculated the percentages and it was not much of a difference so I am going ahead
Hi Abstar, I had the same situation during my first session. Doctor suggested to do IUI and also collected my opinion(if I insist to move on with ivf, they’d still retrieve the eggs). I agreed with IUI though didn’t end with pregnancy. FYI I used fyremdel too with 12 as starting dose. Then my second round they increased the dose to 18 to see if the follicles would grow more evenly and it worked ( something you may ask your doctor for next session). Wish you lots of luck. Xx
We are in similar situation. In most of my cycles I have one follicle rushing ahead. This happens without stimulation too. I read that this is something common above 35. A lead follicle gets selected in the lutheal phase of your previous cycle. I have cancelled three cycles because of this but in the end most of my cycles are like this therefore we decided to get on with it this month. I had one natural cycle before exactly for this reason (one egg was already huge on day 5 of my cycle) and this time I was on stimms. This cycle ended in one mature egg just like the natural before.
If you have the time and resources, you could check for a couple of months whether this is a pattern for you too and decide what you would like to do.
Thanks so much for your advice. I spoke with the doctor and decided to go ahead with the two leading so have my EC booked for tomorrow. Very anxious time 4th cycle round but hopeful and my fingers are crossed. With yours don't give up keep persevering and god willing it will work x
Good luck with your EC tomorrow! I have everything crossed for you 🤞 I understand how nerve wracking this is. I decided to take a break before our next stimulation as I am so overwhelmed ATM.
Based on my reading, the optimal results are with follicles between the size of 18mm and 25mm on the day of trigger. Everything above this size will likely not fertilise and below might not yield mature eggs.
I had the same issue so the doctors decided to put me on a “long protocol” which would allow the follicles to grow more evenly. I had to start injecting decapeptyl in mid luteal phase to subdue follicle growth and then start with growth stimulation a few days after start of my period. It means around 3 weeks of injecting hormones but it worked (AMH 3, 9 follicles retrieved)!
Thats amazing I wish I knew this on Saturday would've suggested it to the consultant. But I have had my egg collection this morning 3 follicles retrieved so awaiting to see what the results are of the maturity of eggs. Thanks for the info. It's really helpful and definitely good to know in future. Hope it worked out for you in the end x
