Hi Doita, I haven't had success yet, but I've done ICSI with assisted hatching (done with a laser), as my embryos were biopsied and tested. In order to do the biopsy safely, they need to make a tiny hole in the shell which surrounds the embryo, which is usually done on day 3 of embryo development. As more cells develop the embryo starts to herniate out of the hole that was made. This allows the embryo to escape more easily as it becomes a blastocyst and grows in size, which could assist with implantation as they need to hatch out of their shell first before they can implant.
I'd imagine most embryology labs do assisted hatching quite routinely, so I believe there's very little risk to the procedure damaging the embryo.
Hi! I did two ICSI rounds with no success. This round we did the assisted hatching described above and my Beta is on Monday, so we'll see if it made any difference.
