update on first IVF attempt - cancelled egg collection

so doc rang me after my third scan to say my 26 follicles are still measuring small! (For some additional info: I’ve high ovarian reserve and its indicate I’ve PCOS but not many other symptoms except weight). So the doc Gave me three options…

1. Go ahead with egg collection and hope there is a few decent eggs

2. Try IUI with 20% chance of pregnancy ( but we are using donor sperm which is very expensive)

3. Cancel the cycle and up the meds next month to push follicles to grow more

After a lot of thought we decided to cancel the cycle and now starting fematab on Tuesday again! Which is what the doc recommended too!

I was a little upset at first on my second scan but am really positive now and think if I would have went for either of the two options it would have been due to impatience! But there is always that what if feeling! The stress of it all 😂 at times I think my own mind is my worst enemy!

sounds like you made the best decision for you and fingers crossed your patience pays off 🤗 quite often the first round is a learning round and as you say especially with donor sperm it could have been quite expensive to go ahead with options 1 and 2 for the sake of hurrying it along xx
