has anyone received treatment from CARE Fertility Chester? Our nhs consultant is suggesting we go there for continuity of care. Interested in hearing other peoples experience x

We are with them, all the staff are lovely and we have been very happy with the care we have received so far.

hi thanks for replying. Do you kind me asking if you are nhs funded or privately funded and how long the process has taken for you?

Not at all we are NHS funded, we started treatment in Oct 2019, we have had two transfers in that time but that’s not a typical time line as we have had ERA tests privately with them alongside our treatment and that’s slowed the process down a huge amount as it flagged up a lot of issues that we needed to address before more transfers.

I’m sorry to hear your journey has been long so far. I am wondering how long it is typically between applying for funding to first appointment and first apppointment to first transfer. The uncertainty of the fertility journey and the lack of control are the things I find the most difficult!

Sorry for the slow reply, the waiting is just so hard to deal with for sure and is certainly what I have found the most difficult to cope with. I can’t really help you with the funding to first appointment bit as we were heavily affected by Covid so it’s not a true picture. It’s hard to give time frames on treatment as it all depends on when you have your period following your appointments, if your lucky it’s days if your like me it’s weeks. We got the go ahead in the October and could have strated our first egg collection cycle from my November period but the dates didn’t work because of Christmas and when the labs close for the deep clean so went with my Dec period. I find it’s like anything, it seems like nothing is happening then it all comes in a rush, just try to be kind to yourself while you are waiting.
