Hi again you lovely bunch!

Today is OTD (11dp5dt) after natural FET and we have a BFP!!!!

Nice strong line which is slightly more reassuring after our chemical in May ๐Ÿคž

A question for you ladies who had a BFP on OTD after a natural cycle - did you continue progesterone pessaries at all?

My clinic have told me to finish what I have (used the last one this morning) and thatโ€™s that! Iโ€™ve read sooo much conflicting information online and would just like to hear other peoples experiences if possible? Why canโ€™t all clinics follow the same book ๐Ÿ˜‚

Best wishes to you all, as always xxx

First of all congratulations! These are somesome beautiful strong lines which will turn into a strong and beautiful baby ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

In my experience of what I've heard and red progesterone is taken up to 8-12 weeks of pregnancy depending on the clinic and the protocols they use. Where is you clinic based UK or abroad? Maybe speak to them and ask to have progesterone for a few more weeks, or at least let them explain why they think progesterone needs to be stopped straight after a BFP. Also I thought that stopping progesterone needs to be done gradually, thats at least what ny new clinic does.

I've got a thing about progesterone and I believe is very much needed in early pregnancy but that's my opinion and I normally have low progesterone levels. X

Sending you loves and positive vibes

Awh thank you so much Iโ€™m keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!!!

I asked them why and their response was โ€˜your ovaries take over the progesterone productionโ€™ nothing more nothing less ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have asked them either for more progesterone or a blood test to confirm everything is sitting right I think Iโ€™ll be far too anxious otherwise!!

Thanks so much for your advice you pretty much replicated my thinking! Xxx

I believe progesterone is used because of the down reg medication. The medication taken before transfer suppresses your own chemicals and hormones and so the orvaries may have trouble producing the progesterone needed to maintain the pregnancy. I was told that the ovaries produce the progesterone needed for the first 7-8 weeks and then the placenta takes over ( I was on progesterone for 8 weeks, full medicated fresh cycle).

If you havenโ€™t taken this medication due to having a natural cycle then it would make sense why they have said you donโ€™t need it. I completely understand the anxiety thou, congratulations on your pregnancy, best of luck to you x

Hi Emilye. Lots of clinics keep you on progesterone fo up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. I suppose you could ask for a blood test to see if you need it or not. Good luck! Diane
