We have just had disappointment from our second round of IVF - our first round was our beautiful daughter.
Our second round ended up in only one egg retrieved, which we have just been told, failed to fertilise.
My husbands sperm they have said is ‘donor quality’ so I can only assume it is my eggs. I am 37 and two years ago when my last amh was taken it was 10.
they didn’t think I needed it done this time (private clinic) as it was only done two years ago, the likelihood was it would now be 8.
I’ve already started looking in to another local private clinic who specialises in natural and natural modified ivf , they say this is ideal for older women and those with lower egg reserve.
Have any of you been through this and is it easier on your body and better for older ladies with possible low amh?
Any help, info or advice on any of the above would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks ladies
xx

Hi Luamber, I am currently doing a natural modified / natural 3-cycle package. Our first cycle was very similar to yours. Only one egg retrieved and although it fertilised (with ICSI), it did not survive the second day.
The initial plan was natural modified cycle but because my egg grew much faster than anticipated they decided I shouldn't use any stimulation. Our next cycle might be natural modified or pure natural again, depending on our day 3 scan.
Natural modified and natural cycles are indeed more suitable for us with low AMH. I hope our next two cycles will yield viable embryos.
Yes, they freeze the day3 embryos and schedule transfer after your three egg collections have taken place.
Feel free to message me over the next weeks. I will have my second collection soon and I am happy to share any further insights or answer any questions you may have.
