sorry feel like I am becoming a serial poster! 🙈

does anyone get there medication independently and not through there clinic?

Is the cost significantly cheaper than going through the clinics (they use stork)

Is it easy or would you just stick with the clinics pharmacy?

Thanks xx

Asda pharmacy do not add profit they sell medication at cost so are cheaper than getting direct. Still expensive though x

When I was doing my second Egg collection cycle, I called an Asda pharmacy to get a quote for all the medicines that were on my plan. Most of the medicines were actually the same or cheaper via the company used by my clinic. There was however one medicine (sorry can’t remember which one, might have been growth hormone) which was dramatically cheaper in Asda. I ended up ordering one medicine from Asda (saved over £200 even with the cost of the additional prescription from the clinic) and the rest via the clinic’s provider. If you have the patience, might be worth speaking with an Asda pharmacist (the first one I called refused to help, but the second one was happy to give me full pricing).

hi Fairytale

I found the same as Habibi87 -it depends on the drugs you need. Some definitely are loads cheaper at asda (we get a lubion prescription from the clinic and take there as saved us £350) but some of the others werent too far off the same at Stork. Its worth printing your list of drugs off and going into asda to see the cost and then decide if it's worth it.

Also like above your clinic might charge to send you a prescription to go elseware.

Hope that helps 😊 x

Hello, I have used stork in the past and they were great as I didnt want to worry about stock issues etc. But for post transfer medications I use asda pharmacy as they seem the most reasonably priced.

in my last fresh cycle the clinic quoted me £2200 for meds, I got them all from Asda for £1350….!! So it was a massive difference! Similar for a frozen cycle, clinic quoted £350 and Asda £250. So definitely worth checking before you decide :)

I used asda, I managed to save approx £500/£600. However my clinic unfortunately charged me for taking a prescription elsewhere, £250! But even considering that, I still made a saving. Every penny counts when your paying so much.

The fertility medication centre are a non profit organisation that are cheaper than Asda. And I didn’t think it could get cheaper than Asda! xx
