The drama of it all

Received my day 5 call yesterday. Four embryos still growing 1 early blast, 3 morula.

We’ve never not had gradable day 5 blasts & were supposed to be doing PGTA. It’s cycle 5.

WTAF.

Come in for transfer, get gowned up. Partner in scrubs. We are told early blast is now excellent and expanded and 2 morula are now early blasts - so they can do PGTA biopsy & freeze. 1 morula stops growing.

Leave without transfer.

Call today. Expanded blast has expanded in a way that makes PGT difficult. Early blasts have stalled. 😳

Come in for transfer, get gowned up. Partner in scrubs but in the interim embryos have grown (!) we now have 2 excellent blasts biopsied and frozen for PGT, 1 excellent blast frozen but unbiopsied because it expanded the wrong way for PGTA.

Not only that but the morula that we thought had stopped growing & is now a blast - albeit low quality (3CC) and “would we like to transfer despite low odds as well, we’re in the outfits and they’d hate to send us home empty handed?”

TL;DR I’m now in the 2 week wait with a day 6 3CC blast with 3 good embryos on ice waiting PGTA.

It’s not right that they deprive you of wine at this time

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your embie earlier. It’s so unfair. How you feeling?

Wow stressful times! But what an amazing outcome! I have seen a load of pregnancies on here with 3CCs and thats the best I ever got so don't give up on the little thing quite yet! Heaps of luck for your 2ww x

Absolutely insane, if I had this result yesterday I’d be buzzing. Today and I’m just a bit perplexed tbh. Hoping I won’t go nuts this fortnight as I already know it’s a slim chance (yeah right, see you in three days when I’m sleep deprived and climbing the wall).

Did your transfer go ahead okay? How you feeling?

Hey yes, bit of a stressful transfer but embie is in! Feeling knackered and they’ve upped my progesterone even more but trying to be super positive this time round as nothing more I can do! (As I regularly tell everyone else to! Haha) xx

Blimey, you’ve been through the mill. Overall thou, great results, wishing you the best of luck. Your last line made me lol 😂, it’s good to maintain a bit of humour in this sometimes nightmarish journey xx
